I get this inquiry from this girl named Kari basically sharing with us that he brothers know Patrick from Calvert Hall and she’s a wedding planner and has wanted to hire us from the first time she found us. When you get that kind of inquiry you know it’s gonna be a fun wedding. Mutual friends, someone who already understands this crazy wedding industry and who loves our work.
When we met Kari and Tom, we realized that we were in for a real treat. These guys are like forever friends, the kind that come over to your house just to hang out. We actually got to know Tom a lot more than most our grooms because of online gaming. He’s even friends with my brothers now which is hilarious.
Spending 12 hours with these guys on their wedding day was incredible. They had a gorgeous ceremony at a gorgeous church, and their reception venue was stunning. A resort in Cambridge MD, I felt like I was actually at a destination wedding as we had architecture and water landscapes like that of a West Coast feel. The type A personality of Kari enusured color palette consistency throughout her wedding day, which if anyone knows me, I am obsessed with consistency of colors and details throughout a wedding day because it’s basically branding your wedding. The marketer in me loves all things brand and Kari and Tom literally branded their wedding day!
Their huge bridal party and amazing families made our day even better. Kind, fun, and flexible with all the locations, meeting spots, etc for portraits allowed these guys to get some pretty sweet portraits.
At the reception, so many cool and special moments happened. A hawk delievered the maid of honors speech, Kari’s mom surprised her with a LED screen photo of her dad who passed away when she was young, and Kari surprised her mom with a mother daughter dance. Some really unique moments of the day were the number of ring children… 4 boys and a little girl all under 6 years old. There was also a sibling dance which I totally loved and the monogram these guys had on the wall was gorgeous coupled with their custom chandelier bar.
What an incredible set-up and design, we totally loved it!
The night ended with a firework show over the bay as all guests watched and celebrated the couple from the water side pavillion. Bucket List item checked… Photograph a wedding where Katy Perry busted out “firework” with Firework Send Off. If only Katy Perry could have been there live.
Kari and Tom, what a day, we love you guys and are so honored we got to spend the last year alongside you during an incredible season of life. What an awesome day and memories to remember. One of our favorite weddings in 2018.
