Yah! I’m so excited to share this session! These guys are our last wedding of 2022 and we are so pumped that they are the ones closing out our calendar! When we met up with them for their session, we knew were were going to have a blast. We had an hour to get as much variety as possible since we had so many ideas and places we wanted to take them in Old Ellicott City. Jenna and Scott met through work and were inseparable… very much like their session. They make each other smile and come alive. I LOVED Jenna’s dress… so much that I actually have it in navy! Now I have to go get mine altered cause she made it look so good! We took them from the bottom of the hill, almost to the top and wrapped up right around the new Mason Jar milkshake bar and La Palapas! Too bad it was closed by the time we finished up, so we walked over to La Palapa where we spent a couple hours just hanging out! Jenna and Scott, we are soo excited to be alongside you guys documenting your story, family, people, and love. Thanks for choosing us and trusting us!!
What is super super couple and wedding day! Christy and Tom had a beautiful wedding at the Turf Valley Resort. Amazing weather day with overcast skies, big puffy clouds and sunshine.
Upon arriving to Turf Valley and the suites, there was nothing but smiles. Patrick found the guys laughing and joking around, while Maggie found the girls giggling and giddy for what would come throughout the day. The girls looked incredible! Fun details and a killer makeup/hair team, Christy was show stopping.
Patrick and I got our couple ready for their first look out in the gardens. The encounter was epic… Tom was so pumped to see Christy and she just beamed. After a handful of photos, the bridal party and family would shortly meet us to cruise the property and do some great segments. We had our fingers crossed that the water wouldn’t come on while we were out on the course taking photos! Thankfully they never came on!
If there was one couple this year that I had to say was the most daring… it would be these two. The decision was made for an outdoor ceremony fully knowing that the radar was showing rain. Everything was wet and damp, overcast, a little gray, but you would never know from photos. You know why… because we LOVE a good partly cloudy, overcast day. It’s the BEST lighting for head to toe even light, a phrase and method we aim for with every wedding we shoot.
What I thought was so neat about this wedding was that this was a destination wedding for these two. No one in their families are from Maryland or even live in Maryland. In fact, most of the bridal party and family flew in or drove in for this wedding. We didn’t realize that until half way through speeches when we figured out that no one was from the area. These two were supposed to get married on the 4th of July but due to COVID decided to postpone the wedding. We were so excited to be alongside these guys along with our film team so we were pretty thrilled to go into this day ready and excited. Something else special about this wedding for us is that Kari, the wedding planner, is one of our past brides! SO that was really cool to be able to work alongside her. She knows how we roll and together we were able to help the day roll seamlessly and beautifully!
Stone ridge Hollow is a beautiful venue we had never shot there. We were so excited to shoot there because we had heard so many great things about the property. So much variety so many places to take killer photos of our couple. Some of my favorite moments of the day was Trevor seeing Stephanie for the first time. I got emotional when Stephanie’s dad walked in for the first time and saw her fully complete head to toe and again as a bride.
Caitlin and Joe had such a beautiful wedding. Everyone was concerned about the rain they were calling for and the timing could not have been better. Caitlin and Joe lucked out… the rain literally came at the end of their outdoor ceremony at Glen Allen Farm. In our minds, it was an incredible day, the kind we pray and wish for. Overcast skies all day for even soft lighting for photos and then at the end of the night, Umbrella Night shots under a sky of rain.
We’ve never done this and we thought it would be awesome to share. We get a lot of compliments on our work and our personalities and our professionalism, so we figured it would be appropriate to share some of our 2018 Behind the Scenes to show the not so glamorous part of our job… some embarrassing and some hilarious… What an amazing year we had, we hope you had an incredible 2018 too.
This Sunday wedding in December felt like a Spring wedding with overcast skies and warmer clients. We couldn’t believe that with a 48 hour window, one day felt like winter freezes and the next day was a spring day. We met these cuties through James’ family as we photographed his sisters wedding 2.5 years ago.
James and Jessica had a really special day as the majority of the day was spent at their new home in Silver Spring. Together they bought 10 acres, an old horse farm, and all of their portraits from their first look, to their wedding party, to their family portraits were in and outside their home.
They wanted a winter feel to their photos, so we wove in furs, luxury details and home decor that would capture their love story, their fashion preferences and their sweet love. And of course some winter Christmas trees too.
This wedding was probably our most looked forward to wedding. Our favorite weddings aren’t always our $100k+ weddings, they also can be our elopements or 50 person weddings. Most the time our favorite weddings are the ones where our couples are sweet, down to earth and phenomenal to work with. Shooting Sarah and Graysons wedding was one of my favorites for sure because Sarah is like family and she’s worked with us for 3 years!
Sarah has been in our lives for the last 3 years… Grayson too. We met Sarah through one of our other couples and we hired her to be our assistant. Over the last 3 years she has been a crucial part of our growth, our success and our family. Zeke loves her Aunt Sarah, and Sarah has become an incredible photographer. She now leads our secondary team and has her own wedding through Living Radiant.
These two dated in Old Ellicott City and had their first kiss in Old Ellicott City, so it was fitting to do their photos in Old EC. Unfortunately, EC isn’t the same as it used to be, so we had to venture around and find hidden beauty in the rubble. Thanks so much Lauren and Kyle for allowing us to move about, see what we could do with limited locations in a super cute town. This town means a lot to all 4 of us and we are so glad we got to spend time getting to know each other in a town we all love. Oh and that Manor Hill Tavern… we’ve gotta go back and order enough food to have left overs. Clearly we were hungry the first time haha. And Holy Smoke… what a good one. Guys, we can’t wait for your wedding in December! It’s gonna be here so so soon!
In 2015, my mom’s high school best friend reached out to me asking what our pricing was. She had a daughter getting married and knew we were photographers and wanted us to shoot her daughters wedding. Marybeth and Brads wedding was one of our first weddings as full-time photographers. 4 years later, Ms Cathy emails me again. This time for her son. Of course, “we’d be honored” I told her.
Meet Mo and David. When Monique and David hired us, alongside Ms Cathy, we were so excited. Mainly because we had worked with this family before, knew they were good people, and secretly, I was really excited to see Marybeth and Brad again. The last time we saw them was when we said goodbye at the end of their wedding.
