Ooooo this session is so so fun! First off, Ashley and Tim are one of our 2023 destination wedding clients… BOSTON! Yah yah! We are so excited to be alongside them next year.
Ashley was a bridesmaid in a wedding we shot last June and we are soo pumped that they want us to be alongside them. They flew in from Boston and met up with us at Longwood Gardens, this incredible park of sorts that is massive with gorgeous water fountains, stunning tree lines, and an area I call Versailles mainly because it’s just romantic and dreamy. These two did awesome and we are so pumped that they trusted us to take them on a great adventure all over the park! Can’t wait for your wedding, we are going to have the BEST DAY EVER!
First off let’s just make it very known that we met these guys on a cruise. And everyone reading this who is at the wedding knows how ironic and funny that is because many of the people at the wedding and family and friends know that Alyssa and Josh love to cruise. Patrick and I were on a cruise with friends for Patrick’s cousin’s baby Moon. One night Patrick and I went to the casino and met Josh and Alyssa I believe at a blackjack table. We asked them if they had a desire to be guinea pig models for us when we landed at the Bahamas in Nassau so that we could have a beautiful Bahama portfolio they would get pretty pictures. We were surprised they said absolutely yes. We gave them directions in an address for where to meet us in the Bahamas. So trusting of us and we so trusting of them. Crazy to think that that was back in 2016.
Who would’ve thought that years later when they would get engaged that they wuold ask us of all photographers in the nation to be their wedding photographers!! When Alyssa and Josh reached out via Facebook we were so excited! My response was “absolutely yes” we would love to. We were excited to make the drive up from Baltimore to spend time with our couple at their wedding and then at the after party. Seeing them that first moments the night before their wedding was as if we picked up where we left off at the bahama beach years prior.
This destination wedding was amazing. Brittany and Darryl had such a packed full day. Some of my favorite highlights to this day included a double date first look, a cat that followed us EVERYWHERE (like I had to pick it up and move it across a field in hopes it left us alone), a ceremony that was sweet with vows spoken on the spot, and a band that had people dancing all night long. Oh and don’t forget the reception details… I loved them all, from lanterns, to a beautiful 4 tiered cake and mini macaroon cakes too on a beautiful antique server. Love love love!
This wedding was long awaited for! Megan and Kevin actually hired us over two years ago for their 2016 wedding, but for their own reasons decided to postpone it another year. SO these guys were engaged 2+ years and we stuck with them! We shot their engagement session on the water in St. Michaels! They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony overlooking the pond at the Lodges at Gettysburg. My personal favorites at this wedding was the horse drawn carriage that brought Megan to the ceremony and then it took the couple away after the ceremony! We love that their love story starts in a Hallmark store where they both met and worked. Totally fitting for these lovebirds. Their fall inspired wedding totally matched the fall rugged outdoor feel that they planned and wanted.
First off, I think it’s pretty amazing that we have now shot the same destination wedding venue twice, two years apart.
Gillbrook Farms is a beautiful farm up in Warriors Mark, PA, near Penn State. Literally, State College is where we stayed and drove in from.
Christina and Chris’ outdoor wedding was perfect. The best weather day, sun in the sky with some clouds, and their color palette was on point for their Navy, Grey and Whites themed wedding (which pops of light pinks and coral!)
They wanted their wedding to be Old World Elegant (Romantic/Vintage) with a barn styled reception. I personally loved that the centerpieces were years. Patrick and I even sat and 1980 and let me tell you, we are babes of the 80’s.
Christina and Chris had a beautiful ceremony where they exchanged their own written vows infront of family and friends, and they were married by Christina’s Uncle, which I think is always really special when family unite our couples.
Arriving at their wedding and seeing all the details and hearing all the stories shared in the speeches, Patrick and I knew Jenn was in amazing hands. These two LOVE the Lord, LOVE each other, and LOVE the great outdoors. I mean, you gotta love the outdoors and adventures to spend your honeymoon in Colorado hiking, camping, and exploring. How amazing! It was fitting considering Phil proposed on top of Pole’s Steeple in PA in January!
Cassie and Kevin are precious and their story sweet as ever. I asked Cassie to write up a blurb about their relationship (mainly because she can tell it so much better!). My favorite line “we are blessed to have found one another and know that is was simply by God’s sweet grace that we did.” ughh… grab me the tissues! I’m a romantic by nature and fall in love over again with my own husband weekly. Knowing two people are completely and fully vulnerable to fall in love with another is amazing, a God gift indeed. It is by the sweet grace of God that he can hand pick someone for you.
