Katie & Matt’s Colorful Spring Wedding at Vignon Manor Farm

Some wedding days feel joyful from the second you walk through the door, and Katie and Matt’s wedding at Vignon Manor Farm was absolutely one of them.

Colorful spring florals, soft blue details, a packed room of people who clearly adore these two, and a bride and groom who spent most of their day enjoying ALL the feels — this wedding was FUN. And underneath all of the beautiful details was so much emotion and meaning.

From the sweetest first looks to private vows, a sentimental ceremony, and a reception full of laughter, Katie and Matt’s wedding was such a beautiful celebration of the life they’re building together.

A Colorful Spring Wedding at Vignon Manor Farm

Katie and Matt chose the prettiest spring color palette for their wedding day. Soft blues were mixed with peach, pink, lavender, burgundy and pops of greenery, giving the entire day a colorful garden-inspired feel without being overly formal.

And the florals were AMAZING.

From Katie’s bouquet to the flower-filled baskets carried by the bridesmaids, the ceremony arrangements, and the abundance of flowers surrounding the sweetheart table, there was color everywhere.

Even their invitation suite tied everything together beautifully with watercolor florals and personalized details. We loved getting to photograph all of those little pieces alongside Katie’s jewelry, shoes, perfume and rings before the day really got moving.

Meanwhile, Matt had some meaningful details of his own — including a personalized wooden ring box and a special photo gift attached on a tie. Those are the kinds of details we always love finding on wedding mornings because years from now, they become such important pieces of the story.

Getting Ready With Their Favorite People

Katie spent the morning surrounded by her bridesmaids and family, and there was no shortage of laughter.

One of our favorite moments was her bridesmaid reveal. The reactions were exactly what you hope for — huge smiles, hugs and the kind of excitement that immediately fills a room.

Before heading out, everyone gathered around Katie for a celebratory toast. It was such a fun way to kick off the day before the bigger moments began.

Matt’s morning was equally relaxed as he got ready with his guys. We photographed all those classic groom moments — suspenders, cufflinks, finishing touches — before heading outside for portraits with the groomsmen.

A First Look and Private Vows

Katie and Matt decided to do a first look before their ceremony, and we are so glad they did.

Matt’s reaction to seeing Katie was priceless.

There were huge smiles, a few tears and plenty of laughter before the two of them exchanged private vows outside. We love when couples choose to do this because it creates a little pocket of quiet in an otherwise very full wedding day.

Just the two of them. No audience. No pressure.

And these two went from laughing to crying and right back to laughing again.

Those are always some of our favorite photographs — not because everything is perfectly posed, but because nothing needs to be. They’re simply experiencing the moment together.

Spring Portraits in the Rolling Hills

Afterward, we explored the property for portraits with Katie and Matt and their wedding party.

Vignon Manor Farm is such a beautiful Maryland wedding venue for portraits because you get so much variety without having to go anywhere. The white fencing, open fields, rolling hills and barn architecture gave us completely different looks within minutes of each other.

Katie’s white gown against all that spring green was gorgeous, especially paired with her colorful bouquet.

Her bridesmaids wore different shades of blue, with a few complementary colors mixed in, and carried the sweetest floral baskets. The entire look felt fresh, romantic and perfectly suited for a spring wedding.

Matt looked pretty sharp himself in a deep blue three-piece suit, while his groomsmen wore gray with pale blue ties.

Together, the entire wedding party looked incredible against the countryside.

Their Ceremony at Vignon Manor

Inside, their ceremony space had been completely transformed.

The stone, warm wood ceiling and large doors already give Vignon Manor so much character, but Katie and Matt’s floral design took it to another level. Florals lined the aisle and surrounded the ceremony space in shades of peach, pink, lavender, white and green.

Before Katie walked down the aisle, we caught Matt waiting at the front of the room.

Then the doors opened.

Katie walked down the aisle with her dad, smiling the entire way toward Matt. The room was full, the light coming through those enormous doors was beautiful, and everything felt incredibly joyful.

They said their vows, exchanged rings and made it official.

And then came one of our favorite parts of any wedding ceremony: that JUST-MARRIED walk back down the aisle.

There is nothing quite like it.

A Bright, Romantic Reception

While guests transitioned into cocktail hour, we had a chance to photograph the reception space before everyone entered.

The room was filled with warm wood tones, greenery, colorful florals, blue linens, blush accents and candlelight. Their sweetheart table was especially beautiful, surrounded by lush arrangements, greenery and glowing candles.

Then Katie and Matt made their entrance — hand in hand and VERY ready to celebrate.

Their reception was full of personality from the beginning.

There were heartfelt speeches, hilarious stories, happy tears and some absolutely priceless reactions from Katie and Matt. At one point Katie was practically doubled over laughing during the toasts, which pretty much sums up the energy of this entire wedding.

These two were just HAPPY.

And that is always our favorite thing to photograph.
