My mom turned 58 in March. I’m pretty sure she has not had any birthday parties in about 10 years or something crazy like that. So, I decided to throw her a surprise with her friends and some family.
She thought she was going to a “McDade Ladies Night Out.” So she was so excited to meet up with my mother-in-law and all my new Aunts. What she didn’t know is that it was all those ladies AND her friends, with cake and presents involved!
I made the favors using little chinese carryout containers from Michael’s and filled them with a candle for each lady to take home.
I also had every woman invited fill out a card for my mom, which we assembled as a gift to my mom. The questions had to do with how long they’ve known her, where they met her, the best memory they have had with her, and a phrase or words to describe her. These were so sweet. We read some out loud at dinner and my mom had to guess who it was.
Mom, you are a fox. I know its your maiden name and middle name, but you really are the best and a foxy lady. “What does the fox say”! I hope you just loved this night out. I know not all your friends could come, and I know I forgot to invite some others (sorry…), but this night was to honor you and love on you, since you do that for everyone else in your life! I love you mom.
