This wedding is special for us to share! We’ve known Melissa for a few years now. I actually don’t remember how we met Melissa but she’s been a photographer for us, has become a sweet friend, and a cheerleader for our business. When Melissa got engaged to Brian, we basically told her we wanted to shoot her wedding. No pressure, but wanted to love on them, and do it as a way to thank her for the work she’s done for us, but also because we genuinely were excited for her, her future, and her wedding.
Melissa and Brian had an awesome engagement session with us, and we loved our time with them afterwards eating Mexican food at a great restaurant called Pachanga in Ellicott City. Things were up in the air for a little while due to COVID but we are so pumped when they said they were going to move forward and still have their wedding.
Melissa and Brian got ready at Melissa’s parents house surrounded by family and friends. The two of them wanted to take their photos and do a first look at a friends rustic barn. There was a really awesome wild flower friend next door which was perfect for Melissa’s sweet and adventurous personality. Their day was stunning! The weather was beautiful, big puffy clouds and sun. The wind was by far the most windy we’ve ever experienced at a wedding but we made it work, favored the wind as much as we could. And let me just say, Melissa as a bride was amazing. She smiled regardless of the weather forecast. Even a storm was supposedly blowing in at one point and her and her families were so responsive, great listeners, and we were able to get the groupings in before the expected time of the storm… which ended up not coming haha. I think my favorite segments of the day were when Melissa, Brian, Patrick and I went out into the wheat fields… holy moly, it was absolutely gorgeous.
I also loved that Melissa and Brian got married in the childhood church of Melissa, where they were married by a friend and fellow photographer/officiant! After ceremony, guests and family shared dinner together in the reception space of the church, where an honored speech was given by Melissa’s childhood best friend.
We loved watching Melissa and Brian dance with friends, family, and a super cute flower girl.
Melissa and Brian, we are so excited for you and your future. We loved being alongside you all day, and in this season of life. Thanks for trusting us and working with us with details especially during a very challenging time for us with the volume of work we have. We value our friendship with you and look forward to more amazing seasons together! Congrats!
