They met on a Friday night at the bar where John works, Ropewalk Tavern in Fed Hill. They immediately hit it off and spent most of the evening together getting to know each other and dancing. They lost touch for a couple weeks only to reunite and they’ve been together since. Olivia is a horse lover, and they both have a mutual love for their dog, Slurpee, who gets the award as Maggie’s favorite dog name ever because of her love for Slurpees.
We were so thrilled to photograph their wedding. Olivia warned us that the wedding was going to be crazy, mainly because of the amount of people that would be coming and their personalities! They were totally right. People danced from the time they arrived at cocktail hour. At one point we watched John and Olivia walk through cocktail hour and everyone was grabbing at them and hugging them. I swear, John knows everyone in Baltimore and Olivia too because of John. He’s like a Fed Hill celebrity.
The first look that these two shared was really special. Family watched from afar and John and Olivia shared a beautiful moment together. They were so sweet with each other and John’s love and admiration of Olivia was so evident. We are going to interupt and share something that many didn’t know. Let’s go back to the beginning of the day. I got a text from Olivia the night before the wedding letting us know that John’s mom fell and was so severly injured that she would not be attedning the wedding. We felt horrible for these two lovebirds and knew the day would look a little different than we all hoped and talked about. That morning the day was adjusted as needed from getting ready to family pictures to ceremony. But what was special was that his mom was included in the ceremony via FaceTime… thank God for technology and the power it has to bring people together and invite people in. The day was a bit more emotional for our couple and their families because it wasn’t the same without his mom present but watching her son’s wedding from a hospital room through a phone made our couples ceremony that much more special.
John and Olivia, your day was full of such sweet and tender moments. We saw tears, hugs, smiles and laughs throughout the day that you shared together. Being at your wedding was a treat and seeing two people become one is pretty incredible.
We wish you guys the best and know you’re always welcome here in our home!
