When you show up on a wedding day to the brides getting ready Suite and are welcomed with the biggest hug, you know it’s gonna be a good day.
Gene and Caras wedding was one for the books. We made a killer timeline for these guys, one that is a little rare for us. No first look but 3 hours between ceremony end and cocktail hour start. The morning was sweet with an amazing dad Reveal followed by a traditional Greek ceremony. After our couple recessed down the aisle as newlyweds (woot woot) we dominated family photos followed by an adventure to the inner harbor. Cara wanted photos with Gene in front Baltimore’s historic constellation so we did even better. We got them by it as well as Baltimore skylines and really awesome Baltimore culture in the backdrops.
Laura and Kurt are some of the most patient people ever, and I’m so grateful! All day we were praying for sunny skies and we almost made it… until it was time for their first look! Laura braved the winds to go outside and have a sweet, quiet moment with Kurt before the skies opened up on us! Luckily, the storm passed, and we were even able to get a few pictures in the rain. It ended up being the best of both worlds!
This destination wedding was amazing. Brittany and Darryl had such a packed full day. Some of my favorite highlights to this day included a double date first look, a cat that followed us EVERYWHERE (like I had to pick it up and move it across a field in hopes it left us alone), a ceremony that was sweet with vows spoken on the spot, and a band that had people dancing all night long. Oh and don’t forget the reception details… I loved them all, from lanterns, to a beautiful 4 tiered cake and mini macaroon cakes too on a beautiful antique server. Love love love!
We’ve been friends with these guys for over a year and a half as they hired us pretty soon after getting engaged. Which is so crazy when wedding day actually came about beause we felt like we just were part of the event and their crew which made our job so smooth with Jenn and James and their whole family and day.
It’s always special for us when we get to photograph weddings of sisters and siblings. We met Melissa when we photographed her sisters wedding in 2017. The family is incredible and honestly one of our favorites in the history of our career. Their sweetness, their grace, and their kindness is literally unfathomable.
Caitlin and Joe had such a beautiful wedding. Everyone was concerned about the rain they were calling for and the timing could not have been better. Caitlin and Joe lucked out… the rain literally came at the end of their outdoor ceremony at Glen Allen Farm. In our minds, it was an incredible day, the kind we pray and wish for. Overcast skies all day for even soft lighting for photos and then at the end of the night, Umbrella Night shots under a sky of rain.
2006 in Tulsa Oklahoma. I think that’s the year we met. Halie and I have been friends for over 10 years!!!
We were roommates in college, we took adventures together, spent hours and days together talking, crying, praying, dreaming, and hoping for things to come. We prayed for our husbands, prayed for careers, prayed for dreams and aspirations to become realities. Little did we know when we would graduate what the future would hold.
Halie was in our wedding in 2013, and the last time I saw her was on our Honeymoon a week later in Florida.
In the summer of 2018 Halie and Jonathan got engaged and invited us to their July 2019 Florida wedding as guests and we were so pumped. We haven’t been guests to a wedding in years, literally. Later in the year, Halie called me to let me know they were not only moving their wedding to New York, but to December, the week of Christmas. Of course we would be there, and I knew we would be there in whatever capacity she wanted!
We’ve never done this and we thought it would be awesome to share. We get a lot of compliments on our work and our personalities and our professionalism, so we figured it would be appropriate to share some of our 2018 Behind the Scenes to show the not so glamorous part of our job… some embarrassing and some hilarious… What an amazing year we had, we hope you had an incredible 2018 too.
We are so so so pumped to be sharing this wedding. What a crew, what a party, what a couple. Our second to last wedding of the year was unreal. The day started with a pretty high chance of rain, and it totally changed. My dream wedding day is partly cloudy, sun hidden, and rain at the end of the night, and that’s exactly what these two go. I know we are crazy, but it’s the best coloration. No one is squinky or sweaty. Cold is still beautiful weather and as I tell all my bridesmaid as they shiver in the cold “pretend I just flew you to Maui” and then they laugh as I remind them it could be a lot worse, it could be blizzarding or pouring rain.
As they shared their first look, their bridal party cheered from afar and we were able to get all their portraits, wedding party and family photos finished before the heavy mist and the start of rain came. Lauren is a lacrosse coach at Mt. St. Mary’s so it was pretty special they got married in the chapel and a her team even came to the ceremony to rally around them!
