Today on the blog we are sharing Will and Vanessa’s stunning Brittland Manor wedding. September weddings are some of our favorites, and the weather on this day didn’t disappoint. It was a beautifully sunny day at a picturesque venue, which set the stage for a day filled with love, joy, and unforgettable moments. The day […]
Today on the blog we are sharing Erin and Andrew’s stunning Kent Island Resort wedding! We flew to Dallas to photograph this couple’s engagement session, and were so excited to be part of their wedding day. For a July wedding, we couldn’t believe how lucky we got with the weather. Maggie was on maternity leave, […]
It feels like these guys have been engaged forever… and it’s because they have been! After a nearly two year engagement and lifelong love (such a cute story of childhood sweethearts… kinda!), these two finally tied the knot this September. The weather held out for a beautiful day by the water. The boys even boated across from Maci and Kyle’s home to the venue! (And got pulled over by the boating police on the way haha). This wedding was full of fun. A boat trip. An outdoor ceremony by the water. Cute kids. A packed dance floor. A beautiful sunset. It was a great day! Thank you so much for having me, guys! I’m so glad to be able to relive your day again and again through your photos and film.
We are always honored when other skilled photographers hire us to shoot their wedding. When we first met Nicole and Ray, I remember driving home from our time with them, after eating ice cream curbside. I told Patrick “I really like them.” I was intimidated initially by Nicole. She’s beautiful, fun, spontaneous. I wasn’t used to being around a bride at an engagement session who was so confident and fun, treating me like a friend I’ve known forever, right off the bat. Most couples go into their engagement session nervous, and a little closed off.
Nicole and Ray got married at a venue we had never shot before and what a beautiful venue Kylan Barn is! New venues are so fun for us. We have to figure out how we are going to light it for reception, where portraits will happen depending on lighting situations day of.
The morning of the wedding, we pulled up to Kylan Barn and I immediately said, this is going to be awesome.
This session is super special to me because Kellie is my COUSIN! I haven’t seen her in months, maybe even over a year, and it’s not too often that we see each other because we live in different states! But we had a family reunion a few months ago to celebrate our grandmothers life as she passed away earlier this year due to COVID and other health related things. Soon before our reunion, Kellie got engaged to Evan, a really sweet guy we were sooo excited to meet! Yah for more cousins (I only have 3 bios and now they all will be married!)
It was only fitting when we were together to take engagement pictures. It was also fitting because we happened to be spending the weekend all together at Britland Manor Estate for the reunion, which is also a wedding venue!
When we met Caity and Michael, we had just come from a pumpkin patch with our son Zeke. He was a few months old and we were so appreciative that they would be okay with us bringing him with us. As soon as we met them we knew their wedding would be special.
I had never heard of the Tidewater Inn until I was asked by a friend in the industry to shoot a wedding alongside her. I was so excited because we had just booked Caity and Michael’s wedding and I would get to see it before shooting there for one of our couples. Little did we know that it’s sister venue is one of our favorites, the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club!
Caity and Michael found us through a sibling of our past October couples, Fadi and Stephanie, and their families. They shared with us their story, my favorite being that Michael’s son would play a key role in the wedding day. When the day actually came, this guy was honestly, so sweet. Oh… and can he dance. A few special moments of the day for us was watching him give a gift to Caity and Michael, and also the sand pouring during ceremony representing becoming a family of 3.
I get this inquiry from this girl named Kari basically sharing with us that he brothers know Patrick from Calvert Hall and she’s a wedding planner and has wanted to hire us from the first time she found us. When you get that kind of inquiry you know it’s gonna be a fun wedding. Mutual friends, someone who already understands this crazy wedding industry and who loves our work.
When we met Kari and Tom, we realized that we were in for a real treat. These guys are like forever friends, the kind that come over to your house just to hang out. We actually got to know Tom a lot more than most our grooms because of online gaming. He’s even friends with my brothers now which is hilarious.
