Newborn shoots are always unpredictable. I’ve come to the realization that newborns are fun to hold, to swaddle, to look at, etc. I’m looking forward to being a mom and having my own newborn some day. However newborns are NOT easy to photograph. In our photography services, these are the most difficult.
Meet Elliott. Elliott is just a few weeks old. Skylar and Joel are brand new parents and champions in the first few weeks of Elliott’s life. As we (living radiant photography) are expanding our portfolio, we are thankful for friends who believe in us and empower us to come photograph their lives. They warned me that he doesn’t sleep. In my head “of course they sleep, they are newborns”… wrong.
Elliott would not sleep. In fact he cried and cried and cried some more. We held him, rocked, him, clothed him, declothed him, and fed him. He pooped he peed, and peed some more. Even on me.
Regardless of his movement and moments, I was able to get some shots that I think are precious and capture the personality of this little guy. I know Skylar and Joel will laugh and love looking at these. Skylar, you even said, newborns are like little aliens with minds of their own. They don’t care what they look.
Let’s just say I think we do better at weddings and family shoots than we do newborns… phew!
Thanks Joel and Skylar for inviting me to come get some pictures of Elliott. They aren’t as stunning as our wedding and maternity shoots, but I think they capture this little guy. He loves his momma… he didn’t want to do anything without the comfort and feeling of her arms around him. Love you guys!
