A couple weeks ago, we (Patrick, myself, and our Assistant Sarah), ventured out to Colorado to meet up with one of our couples for their engagement session. Allison and Benny met us here in Colorado, booked us for their Maryland Wedding via skype once they had moved out to Colorado. We were so excited to be able to photograph these guys not only where they live, but also in our favorite second state in the US.
We flew in on Friday, and photographed these guys on Saturday in one of our favorite mountain towns, Breckenridge, Colorado. The morning before meeting them we scoped out some locations and couldn’t wait to meet up with them and take them on what became a 3 hour excursion. We even saw a MOOSE! In my whole life I’ve only seen 3 in the wild and so that was a pretty awesome thing to be with them and experience that.
In 2016, our team had a January 1st New Years Day wedding, and a December 31st 2016 New Years Eve Wedding. What are the chances!!!
We are so excited to share this beautiful Herrington on the Bay New Years Eve Wedding. Brittany and Steve said I Do in the evening, just a few hours before the clock struct 12 and a New Year begun. The balloons fell, folks kissed and cheered, even Patrick and I kissed (well afterwards haha). We were so honored to start a New Year doing what we absolutely love with one of our amazing couples! Folks danced until it was time to go and rows of sparklers sent our couple off to a New Year together as husband and wife!
Congrats Brittany and Steve! Cheers to a New Year and to your marriage! We wish you guys the best!
How sweet are these two!? Jenna and Robert had the sweetest morning session with us two days before Christmas in downtown Baltimore. Robert had just flown in from Japan, where he is stationed, to spend time with family and friends, and in the coming days drive across the nation to what will be their new home in California.
Maggie has known Jenna since they both were kids, in middle school. Maggie was friends with her old brother Thomas from school and church. Crazy to think that so many years later that Maggie and Jenna’s paths crossed again and we are honored now to be their wedding photographers.
Earlier this month, Emily and Joe celebrated a beautiful wedding at the Columbus Club of Arlington. The ceremony was at St Aloysius Church in DC on the Gonzaga campus where Joe went to High School. We absolutely LOVE this wedding for a bunch of reasons. We LOVED the color palette… mainly because we love Christmas and the Holidays. This winter wedding made us with we would have done a winter wedding! The white fur capes against the beautiful red dresses are amazing! Patrick especially loved the florals, the tuxedos, and Emily’s dress… just stunning!
It’s not everyday that you get to photograph a couple that actually gets married on a glacier AND a bride who is a roller derby girl! No, we didn’t go to Alaska for their elopement, BUT we did get to be part of their love story and photograph their Maryland reception with family and friends.
The reception was Alaska and Northern Lights themed. Purples, Greens, and Blues complimented the yellow walls at the beautiful Historic Oakland. My personal favorite was the cake with their cat topper and the favors were glacier cookies. The room was full of pictures from their Northern Lights engagement and their Alaskan Glacier elopement.
Nicole and John had a gorgeous late fall wedding at Eagles Nest County Club in Towson. These two lovebirds had a beautiful day, with crisp sun and leaves above. They said i Do at the St. Ursulas Church off Harford Road where family and friends gathered to watch the exchange of vows in the presence of all.
Baseball is a sweet spot to both of them. Their Camden Yards engagement session was so fitting as their wedding day incorporated little accents of the things they love. The groomsmen wore Orioles and Ravens socks, and the girls wore gorgeous merlot floor length dresses with stunning bouquets. Even John had Orioles cufflinks.
Emily and Chad are sweet souls, along with their super cute pup. For folks that aren’t used to the camera, these guys did exceptional! Just remind us never to go to a state park on a Saturday due to crowds! Our couple rocked their session in between the bustle of many dogs and their humans on the trails at Patapsco State Park in Arbutus. These guys were willing to follow us as we navigated multiple parks of the park. We wanted them to have beautiful variety, and so we found it. Our personal favorite was hiking to the waterfalls and down to the aqueduct along the river… just breathtaking.
It’s not everyday that you get to take a hike up into the mountains and photograph a super cute couple. Joey and Meredith love nature and mostly the fall. These guys had a beautiful session up at Cunningham Falls State Park. They were adventurous as they trusted us to cruise the area scouting amazing backdrops and scenery. My personal favorite is the path to the woods. Not open to the public we secretly wandered back just a few yards to capture the beauty of the woods surrounding these two.
Cotton Candy Skies, a cold night, the sweetest flower girl, smiles all night and beautiful florals, this wedding was nothing short of beauty.
Sam and Andrew had a gorgeous wedding day at Celebrations on the Bay. Surrounded by friends and family, Sam and Andrew said I do overlooking the bay with dusk at their fingertips.
We shot a wedding at the Baltimore Waterfront Hotel in June of this year… and there was this super cute couple that just ROCKED the dance floor with their swinging ability… like legit Swing. Patrick and I both were kinda jealous because clearly we couldn’t compete (with or without our cameras).
Chelsea and Charles are two sweethearts with big big hearts and a sweet sense a humor. We are so pumped for their June 2017 wedding! They probably will get the award for most guests ever invited to a wedding and we can’t wait to see who shows up on the dance floor!
