Straight out of college I move back to Baltimore to start a job as a kindergarten teachers assistant. Many of you don’t know that I taught elementary education at the McDonogh school prior to moving into the marketing world, even before we were wedding photographers. My first year as a teachers assistant was with the beautiful Tammy R. How this ties into this wedding is that Tammy is the mother of my bride MJ.
About six years ago I did a reunion shoot for the race family and got to meet a handful of aunts uncles and cousins. Little did I know that we would be full-time wedding photographer shooting MJ’s wedding in the years to come. When they asked me to shoot their wedding Patrick and I were so honored and excited. Of course we said yes and would be happy to go wherever they wanted to tie the knot.
MJ and Keith decided to have their wedding in Luray Virginia at the beautiful Brenwood Lake venue.
Patrick and I drove down the night before to ensure we were able to see the venue prior to wedding day. We knew we were in for a beautiful ceremony in their outdoor space alongside the venue which felt like a rustic barn but updated for a great party.
Yah! We love a good engagement session adventure! Hannah and Chris’ session was everything spontaneous that a session could have. We met these lovebirds down on the property of their grandmother on the water in East Baltimore. The view was incredible. But upon arriving, we knew that in the next 2 hours, we would want to get them a lot of variety. So out the gate, we literally told them they had no choice but to hop in our car and we would find what their vision was. So not only did we fulfill what was in their head for photos but we got to take them on a wild “location unknown” trip for 2 hours around that part of Maryland. We went until we had no light and ended up sitting at dinner at Shultz’ Crab House (one of our favorites) in Essex eating crab bisque! Thanks for trusting us Chris and Hannah! Can’t wait to be alongside you!
Oooo, this is such a sweet vow renewal to share today!
Alex and Jon got married in 2020 with family and friends but it was small and intimate. They had postponed their large wedding to 2021 and asked us to come alongside them yet again to document a beautiful day as they renewed their vows in front of those unable to attend their 2020 ceremony. We had a lot of time with them, cruising the grounds of Hunt Valley Country Club. It was lovely and beautiful. Their reception was fully of dancing, their first dance witnessed by all and really yummy food and desert. Jon and Alex, thanks for trusting us with yet another momentous occasion in your life. We are so excited for you, proud of you for planning not 1 but 2 weddings in the middle of a pandemic. We wish you the absolute best!
We had always heard skyline Drive was incredible and beautiful. It wasn’t one of those destinations that we were ready to undergo with two little kids Intel. But when Chelsea and Josh hired us for their 2022 wedding they made it known at their consult that they had every intention to do their engagement pictures there. Patrick and I were so excited to have the opportunity to drive down there and do a session there. And let me tell you the view did not disappoint. Chelsea and Josh did awesome at their session. We met them mid day to basically cruise a 30 mile stretch of the Shannondoah Valley to find epic views and capture what was in their mind and heart for engagement pictures. We hopped in the same car and drove and spent basically 3 1/2 almost 4 hours together.
We are so excited for Gemma and Sean’s engagement session to be live on the blog. These guys did amazing. They weren’t nervous and if anything they were excited to finally meet us in person. We were all excited to cruise around Baltimore city together. These guys were a three hour engagement session for us allowing us to do two locations with ample time to get them variety and beautiful segments. We started in Fells point up near Henderson’s Wharf and did the whole stretch in Fells Point ending up down past Bond Street! Before sunset we hopped in the car and headed over to Federal Hill starting at the marina at the Rusty Scupper where we would get classic Domino Sugar backdrops near the Ritz Carlton and then soon after get beautiful marina is with Baltimore skyline. We knew the sun was dropping fast so we headed up, and I mean we literally hiked Fed Hill from the bottom to get up to the corner. These guys are getting married at the Four Seasons next year so it was only appropriate to do a segment with the hotel in the background from Fed Hill. We finished their segment on the Fed Hill west side facing ravens stadium at the request of our groom. We’ve been getting the prettiest sunsets these days.
Emily and Josh are such a sweet couple. When Emily reached out to me about shooting her micro wedding I was so excited. Emily and Josh rented an Airbnb for what they thought would be the getting ready location for their big wedding at Silver Swan Bayside. But due to Covid and due to their own health concerns they decided to totally rethink their wedding day. They invited their guest to join them on Zoom and cancelled their big wedding. So thankful for technology in the midst of a pandemic. Family and friends join them as they said I do in the presence of Emily and Josh, her mom and her sister. The wedding location was on the water on Kent Island in a waterfront wooded lot with a beautiful yard. Although I would be there to document their ceremony a little bit, I also go to document their getting ready. We had plenty of time for portraits together, and it was really special for me to see them get creative and intentional for their 4 person reception. Emily and Josh, we are so excited for you. I was so honored to be able to shoot alongside you and document the long-awaited union of both of you. I hope the best is yet to come for you and Hope you find such sweet fulfillment and love in your marriage. We wish you the best!
While we may still be catching up from the amazing 2021 year we had and the most weddings and engagement sessions we’ve ever shot in one year… we are sooo excited to share all the beauty we’ve encountered and shot over the last 4-6 months. Todays we are sharing Dana and Drew’s session. They wanted fall, a place their dog would love and a place that we loved to photograph. Centennial park is special to me, probably because of all the times I’ve been here both personally and professionally. Dana and Drew rocked their session. We had so much fun cruising all around the park, even after dark. They let us play with lighting and sunset and water. Dana and Drew, we are so excited to be alongside you guys in this season of life. Your day is going to be awesome! Enjoy the process! We are cheering you on!
What a beautiful wedding that Megan and Ryan had! These guys had beautiful weather, and wonderful bridal party, and a reception that was so much fun!
The girls got ready at Megan’s parents house, and Ryan and his guys got ready and hung out in the morning while playing pool. They had a beautiful ceremony in a church in front of family and friends. As husband and wife, they were cheered on my all and everyone headed to Eagles Nest Country Club for cocktail hour and photos!
The night was full of super sweet moments, speeches, family dances, and of course wild party rock dancing.
Megan and Ryan, we are so excited for you! Thanks so much for trusting us and allowing us to be part of your day. We wish you the best!
I’m pretty excited to share this gallery with the world today! Lindsay and Jay are one of our 2020 Covid couples who did not only reschedule their big wedding but also had a wedding with family and friends in the summer of 2020. I had the honor of meeting Karen and her daughter Lindsay and fiance Jay last summer when I went and did photos for them at their home. We knew we were in for a good time with this family.
The day started and ended at the beautiful Rosewood Farms in Elkton Maryland. We’ve had the honor and privilege of shooting at this venue multiple times and it’s definitely worth the trip every single time. The staff is always incredible and I think the feelings are mutual how much we like them and they like us.
Lindsay and Jay got ready surrounded by a beautiful group of bridal party members. I especially loved it they included their dog Bunny on their wedding day both in newlywed pictures and in her own little segment. Their bridal party was super fun and ready to party. The day flew by for us. Some of our favorite details and moments are the day are the sweet surprises from the brides parents. A champagne cart and a hotdog late night snack cart.
This was such a fun session! First off, it was so pretty! The lighting for Margot and Ian’s session was nothing short of dreamy! We cruised all around the grounds at Cylburn arboretum. Margot and Ian were in town with her parents (and pup) and soon after their session they would drive back home to NY. I loved that her parents got to see us do our thing too! While we wish they lived closer, we know when we do see them, it’s going to be for their wedding! Margot and Ian, we are so excited for our time with you in 2023! Enjoy this season, it will go so fast, so soak up every moment you can!
