Fall sunrise engagement sessions are some of our favorite types of sessions because there’s no traffic, no people around that have to be photoshopped or accounted for, and the colors of the sky are to die for! When Christina and Chris told us about their sweet moments at the National Mall during their dating season of life, we were in total agreement to do a DC National Mall Engagement Session. It was the morning of the Marine Corp Marathon so we spent the morning wandering all over the mall. We started at the National Monument, walked across the lawns of the Lincoln Memorial by the reflecting pool, down by the cherry blossoms across from the Jefferson Memorial, back to the fountains on Constitution. We had a blast with these guys and LOVE the variety of locations we covered in our 2.5 hours with them.
Many of you received our announcement email when we shared our exciting news. Many of you found out on Facebook or Instagram! Or some of you through my mom haha. Patrick and I are so excited to share that we are expecting a little baby in April 2017. We found out in July and decided to wait until our 3rd year wedding Anniversary (just a week ago) to share our news with the world. (Really it’s because Maggie wanted to wait until she was showing… opps). We had to keep it a secret for 4.5 months! Next time, no way. It was so hard not to tell people, but alas we did.
We decided it would be really fun to do a “lead up” with a total of three images to share leading up to our announcement on our wedding anniversary.
When you are pregnant, I have to say it’s pretty awesome to be able to hold and see your friends with their little ones as well. When my good friend Nicole, who I know from shooting weddings and events at Turf Valley, asked me to come photograph their new addition, I was so excited. Lately I’ve been doing a lot more maternity and newborn than I normally do because we specialize in weddings, not little people. However, what a sweet treat it is to photograph them. Nicole, thanks for trusting me with your little girl… she did so great!
Ekk! I am so excited to share this maternity session. I’ve known Sarah since college, we were chaplains together at Oral Roberts University. After college, I moved home, met Patrick and got married. Sarah was one of my amazing bridesmaids. Soon after, Sarah got engaged to this amazing guy named Chris, and they asked Patrick and I to be their wedding photographers. Just a few months ago, Sarah and Chris moved to Columbia Maryland from Texas!!! And now they live 15 minutes from me! I still can’t believe they are really here. Sarah and Chris are expecting a little one this December, just 4 weeks from now! So we HAD to do their maternity session and we were ecstatic!
John and Victoria are getting hitched next April, shortly after our little one arrives. We are so thrilled to have these guys as one of our clients. When we told them we were expecting, they said “we’re just glad that you still want to be our wedding photographers. We don’t want anyone else.”
You have no idea what that meant to us John and Victoria. We are so honored to have you guys as one of our 2017 couples, AND we get to celebrate your forever with you guys!
One of my favorite parts of their engagement session was meeting their newest addition. Their Bernese Mountain Dog (our dream dog) is just a couple weeks old… sweet, gentle and amazing behind the lens. Cute, right!?
This wedding has been long awaited by our bride and groom. Amanda and Ross hired us back in 2014 for their 2015 wedding. They decided to postpone it a year to October 2016, so their wedding was definitely an anticipated wedding by them and their family. Our couple had a sweet wedding at Holy Cross in Baltimore with a cocktail style reception at The Brewer’s Art.
A few of the things that made this wedding super unique and special was the weave of Scottish tradition mixed into their wedding day. All men (including guests) were invited to dress is Scottish dress. Following the ceremony, a traditional Scottish toast where the bridal party all drinks out side of the church (called of a quaich) was taken.
I’m always amazed how folks come to find us and hire us for their big day. 3 years ago, I joined my mom and brother as he was going to meet his Prom date at her house. I came to take pictures. It was that day that I met an amazing family with 4 beautiful daughters. 1 daughter, Megan, hired us for her wedding a year later, and then her sister, Kaitlin, hired us to take fall pictures with her boyfriend last fall. Well… fast forward, Kaitlin asked us to be her wedding photographers, and now we have two brides that are sisters. That to be is exactly why we do what we do. Brand loyalty is something we have fought to have, worked hard to maintain, and we get to love entire families in the process. Kaitlin & Scott, we can’t wait to photograph your wedding next year!
When we first met Erin and Alex, it was at Bean Hollow in Historic Ellicott City. We just clicked with these guys. Erin and Alex are getting married next year and we couldn’t be more excited to be their wedding photographers. If you love Fells Point, you’ll love this engagement session… we ventured throughout the area finding great little spots that just made sense for these two! Erin and Alex, congrats! Can’t wait to see you guys again soon!
The very first time I met Justin and Mandy, I knew we would be friends. I was so so excited when they hired us because of their love for each other and the sentimental and loving aspects of their life and relationship.
The day started out with a forecast of rain all day. By the time we got outside, the rain left and clouds stayed with light mist. It didn’t keep these two from being outside though! We love how all the colors of this wedding flowed from room to room at the beautiful Cheasapeake Bay Beach Club Ballroom. The wedding colors were navy blue and white. Every groomsman wore personalized cufflinks that were rope knots and they matched the centerpieces at the reception. The creams, whites and greens were accents that highlighted the details of the invitations, the flowers, the gifts and the favors. Speaking of the favors, Koozies were gone in minutes of them being put out for the guests. One of my favorite moments of the day was seeing Justin’s gift to Mandy. Mandy’s mom is gone from this lifetime, but the day couldn’t have gone better because of her mom. Justin gifted Mandy a beautiful mini picture frame of her mom that was attached to her bouquet. How special. Her mom was with her all day, literally.
