Oh wow where to start. I genuinely don’t know where to start with this couple because we’ve been through so much with them. These guys have become dear friends of ours and so sharing this blog post is a little emotional for me. Alysia was one of my brides that brought me into her process during the pandemic of both her work her family and her planning. From the beginning I knew Alysia and Brooks would be friends for life.
Alysia and Brooks had the best day. When I think of their day the moments that stand out the most. Brooks seeing her for the first time is how we all want to be looked at as a bride (or at least I did!). She surprised him with a beautiful blush colored gown. Alysia’s dad responded so sweet alongside his wife and her sister during her father reveal. Probably today they have one of the coolest incorporation of honoring generations at a wedding. Alysia worked really hard with her both her moms to gather wedding items from wedding gowns, shoes, veils, purses, from the living grandparents who would be attending the wedding. Alysia surprised the three beautiful grandmothers on her wedding day with their wedding dresses on display doe all to see. It was beyond beautiful and so honoring of her grandmothers.
These guys may have had one of the biggest shot list today pre-ceremony. Thankfully we were able to get everything on their shot list that they desired prior to ceremony starting with extra time on the front end. Alysia walk down the aisle towards the water at the beautiful Chesapeake Bay Beach Club where guest sat viewing our couples vows with the backdrop of the bay bridge. After an irruption of applause with these two announced as husband and wife the night only got better as it got later. At reception there were so many iconic moments that stick in my head. From both the bride and groom crowd diving to Brooks going shirtless on the dance floor. Even Alysia surprising her man with a rap song solo honestly everything was so memorable. Patrick and I never dance at weddings but this was one couple that when my song came on I busted some moves as a surprise to a couple. Pretty sure they loved it based off their reactions. You won’t see those on a social platform anytime soon. Alysia’s dad gave a really sweet speech that made me really think about the time I spend working compared to the time I spend with my family.
Alysia and Brooks, we are so pumped to know you. We are so happy for you guys. You trusted us. You let us allocate time for night shots and newlywed segments and any photo we wanted for you, you said yes to. #DreamClient. We absolutely loved being alongside of you.
