YAH! So Genevieve and Alex kicked off our 2018 Spring Wedding Season with a GORGEOUS wedding at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club!! We have been looking forward to this wedding for months, probably because 1) They were the first of the Spring season, 2) our bride is our WeddingWire sales rep (which is awesome!) and 3) because we knew it would be a wedding packed full of details, details, details!
Meet Stephanie and Keith. These guys are huge Disney fans. We have a lot of couples that love Disney, but these guys actually incorporated Disney into their engagement and their wedding day. Keith proposed to Stephanie on January 3, 2016 – one day before their two year anniversary – in Walt Disney World. He got down on one knee at their private beach at the Caribbean Beach Resort while it drizzled lightly and the fireworks lit up the sky. He carried the ring in his pocket through an entire day of Disney fun, including adventure rides and tours of Epcot and Hollywood Studios, before popping the question. At their wedding, their centerpieces were beautiful Cinderella gold Carriages, and the theme of their wedding was “Our Love Story” with elements of fairy tale, travel and baseball… Keith is a huge baseball fan. You can imagine the fun Patrick and Keith had at their engagement session talking all about baseball! I think one of the coolest reception pieces was the cake topper in glass. It’s over 100 years old with a story you can read about below. I love family heirlooms at weddings!!
These guys are old souls and deep lovers. Meet Katt and Nick. Their love for music, antiques, people, and special touches, these guys honestly rocked their DIY rustic wedding. Katt literally made every single thing that was part of her wedding day. From their canned jam favors, to the centerpieces, and even incorporating antiques like an old bike and gramophone, and choosing to have eco flowers as a way to preserve the flowers, everything had meaning. Their first look was pretty awesome. We loved that they shared a moment together praying. Katt gave Nick a journal of letters that she wrote from day one of being engaged to their wedding day. Pretty incredible. Nick wore a custom Christopher Schaffer suit, which we totally digged!!
The word “darling” comes to mind when I think of Melissa and Tom. They are sweet souls, gentle, and full of kindness. When these two lovebirds asked us to be their wedding photographers, we knew we would have so much fun and really enjoy their wedding day.
The spent their wedding day at the historic Gramercy Mansion. It’s a relic on its own. Their vast gardens are full of blooms that make any white gown pop. Melissa and Tom shared a super sweet first look in the front of the mansion, and they said I do on a brick portico, even one brick is etched with their name. Their sweet kisses and smiles filled the night, and you could just tell how excited Tom was to hold the hand of his newlywed wife.
I met Kaitlin shortly after her sister Megan hired us for her October 2017 wedding. You can view Megan and Charles’ wedding here! Kaitlin and Scott hired us to photograph their holiday pictures and later asked us to photograph their wedding.
Arriving at their wedding and seeing all the details and hearing all the stories shared in the speeches, Patrick and I knew Jenn was in amazing hands. These two LOVE the Lord, LOVE each other, and LOVE the great outdoors. I mean, you gotta love the outdoors and adventures to spend your honeymoon in Colorado hiking, camping, and exploring. How amazing! It was fitting considering Phil proposed on top of Pole’s Steeple in PA in January!
Patrick and I were at a bridal show when we met Connie. She wasn’t a bride, but a vendor. Connie and I hit it off and she began to tell us her story. Oh how I WISH you could have heard the beauty surrounding her vision for her wedding day. Duane and Connie incorporated beautiful elements into her wedding day. Both her mom and her grandmother passed within the last year and a half. Her mom passed first, then her grandmom. I’ll never forget when Connie shared with us that she was going to have a “different” wedding. Her two sons were to walk her down the aisle, and she would do a surprise bouquet presentation to her aunt… her mom’s identical sister. You should have seen Connie and Duane at their wedding. I’ve never seen so many smiles. These two danced as much as they could and smiled even more. Working with Connie and Duance was such an honor. These two have SO MANY FRIENDS and I think that will be very obvious once you see their guests and how much fun they had. They are loved by so many people!
Steph and Brad met through mutual friends. These two absolutely love sports… especially the Orioles (I mean who doesn’t love our Baltimore Baseball team!?)… They bonded over their love of sports and quickly became inseparable. These guys live near us in Ellicott City and love being outdoors, watching sports, and relaxing with friends. Steph and Brad wanted their engagement pics at Centennial Lake, where Brad proposed to Steph while on a picnic. They are getting married at Turf Valley next year and we are thrilled to be alongside them as they throw the biggest party of their lives!
When I graduated from college in 2009, my first job was teaching Kindergarten at the McDonogh School in Owings Mills. I spent two years there, surrounded by amazing people, students, and families. As a Bryn Mawr grad who spent years on the Gilman School campus (I grew up living on campus) with brothers who attended Gilman, McDonogh was the arch enemy. But ever since I taught at McDonogh, my heart for that school has grown so big that I think I might love McDonogh as much as I love Gilman.
