I absolutely LOVE the mayflower hotel, love our nation and the monuments that surround DC. When michelle and Pat hired us, we were thrilled as we love the mayflower, its elegance, and its beautiful ballrooms and corridors. Subtle beautiful details are throughout.
Michelle and pat both got ready for their big day on site. Michelle wore a family heirloom which was a crowned veil and blusher. Her classy dress was amazing. Neil wore a white tux… fabulous and he looked all good! They didn’t share a first look so the anticipation was real, welcome, and fulfilling. All separates we’re done pre-ceremony. With the the passing of Michelle’s dad, her amazing uncle stepped into the place of her escort and honor. They rode together in a black Cadillac to the wedding. Upon arrival He walked her down the aisle to Pat. The church was beautiful! Full mass followed by a beautiful cocktail hour for guests. While guests mingled, the newlywed, wedding party and is gallivanted through DC and hit up 3 iconic DC locations! The reflecting pool at the Lincoln Memorial, the WWII museum, and the Washington monument… oh and someone ordered ShakeShack Fries midway through!!
This session is one of those that are super fun for us to share. Stephanie and Rick are special to us for a lot of reasons. Stephanie is the sister of one of my brides, Ashley, and was the maid of honor. She did an incredible job for her sisters wedding and I won’t forget when we met, by the end of the night, I secretly hoped that she would be calling us for her wedding! Sure enough, she did, and we were too pumped! Rick is sweet and fun, and loves his dogs, loves his flip-flops and good food. Pretty much like Patrick does, so they paired well all day long. Stephanie and Rick… your day is coming soon… we can’t wait to be alongside you guys! It’s gonna be awesome!
Excited to share this engagement session with you all! Sami and Drew had an awesome session with us, and we couldn’t be more excited for them to tie the knot this July at Rosewood Farms! Sami and Drew were up for an adventure with us, complete with bad Uber drivers, and hilarious moments with humanity. We cruised from the Jefferson Memorial, to the Tidal Basin, to the WWII Memorial to the Reflecting Pool at Lincoln Memorial. We were literally chasing daylight at one point and wanted to pop champagne as the sun set. I loved their pup, his bowtie, and her Mrs. jacket… makes me want to get one 10 years later haha. Sami and Drew, thanks for spending time with us at dinner, we loved getting to know you better and can’t wait for July!
Referrals are so incredible. I can’t even think what life would look like not to have a relationship with people. Ashley and Joe are one of those couples. They found us through one of our past couples Abby and Eric, one of our 2016 couples. Ashley and Joe are wonderful people. And their families are also so sweet. We met Ashley and Joe in person at their engagement shoot and what was probably one of the hottest engagement sessions of the entire year, maybe even two years. Joe had just returned from Kuwait from deployment so we were so pumped to be able to spend some time with him pre-wedding day and get to know them at dinner.
This December wedding was so fun and so memorable. To start, we had never met the couple in person prior to the wedding, which we thought was so crazy. I think because I had talked to Rachel so many times over the phone and via email, when we met in person that morning, it just felt so normal and so right and so fun. The whole day was a day full of surprises and anticipation. There were details woven in that were subtle but intentional. A rosary around Rachel’s bouquet that her mom identified as her grandfathers the morning of. Plaid pashminas that made this day feel wintery and like Christmas was upon us. Their reception venue was their families home and a backyard of memories turned to wedding ones.
Yah! This session finally happened! Haylie, Chris, Patrick and I had been anticipating this session for months, no joke! Originally their session would have been earlier this summer in June, but we all thought it wise to postpone it until we could have the session we all wanted for these two!
We spend our time together cruising the National Mall in DC, the place where these two met and fell in love. It was only fitting to go to all their favorite places, which were beautiful backdrops and scenary for their session. Their session would only be complete with their sweet pup Snoops! He did awesome. As Chris said, the session was A+ but Snoop got an F. lol. Not really, Snoop aka Dragon did awesome and we got what we could with all the amazing distractions that dogs love.
Woot Woot! What an awesome day! You know, when most people think about getting married in February, they are worried about snow, blizzards, being too cold, having to be outside for photos, and lack of daylight. But let me tell you, with this couple and this wedding day, those things weren’t even on the agenda. The day was beautiful, we all planned ahead. It definitely was cold, but since it wasn’t snowing or raining, Emily and Greg were absolutely amazing and trusted us to rock and roll and get them killer photos despite the cold cold winds. Their families, wedding party and guests were a blast and honestly, we still are so pumped that the day went as smooth as it did!
How fun was this day! What a way to step out of your comfort zone… for all of us! Gloria and Roger opted for a really unique engagement session in DC at the National Gallery of Art! It was a rainy day, so we had crowds to compete with, but they were both super flexible and were go gracious as we mazed through the museum! I loved how creative this session became and how much fun we had exploring. I can’t remember the last time I was at this museum, it’s definitely been over 10 years! These cuties are a lot of fun, I met them first at Lina and Jake’s wedding in March of 2019. I can’t wait for their wedding this September!!
We met Brooke at a bridal show at Turf Valley earlier in the year and she ended up being our engagement session winner. I remember when I met her and we talked, she was so sweet and kind. When we found that she and Nick wanted to meet with us and hire us for their wedding, we were so excited. These two lovebirds get married in March 2019 and we spent our time with them for their session in DC. We literaly galavanted all over the mall in DC from the Jefferson Memorial to the Reflecting Pond and the WWII Memorial.
In case you haven’t noticed, we’ve literally been swimming 12 feet deep in weddings and engagements. We finally have caught up, just in time to be slammed again by a wave of awesome weddings and engagement sessions that are coming our way literally in days. We will have weddings and engagements every weekend until Thanksgiving where we have some time off. And then we have 4 December weddings. But today, we are sharing a DC wedding at the classy MayFlower Hotel in DC.
