Emily and Kevin had a beautiful engagement session at the Naval Academy and in downtown Annapolis. After Emily and Kevin hired us, they had a few ideas of where to go and we proposed some and we all agreed on Annapolis. Upon arriving it started to rain. We all were like NOOOO…. This isn’t going to happen. Patrick and I started to think strategically about where we could go and how to shoot despite the rain. Basically these guys had to trust us as none of us (including them) wanted to reschedule the session due to schedules, etc.
Korinna and Dustin kicked off our fall 2019 wedding season. We had 22 wedding left in 5 months and couldn’t wait to get rolling with amazing fall weddings.
Our morning with these guys was awesome. We took the limo to the naval academy where family watched and cheered on. Once they had seen each other, Patrick and i cruised all over the campus with our almost married couple and their wedding party. The beauty of first looks is the majority of photos are done on the front end. We did have to spend some more time after ceremony too because there was a huge orientation at the rotunda and Korinna really wanted photos there. We made sure to get them, it would just be a couple hours later. Korinna and Dustin had a gorgeous naval academy wedding. The chapel is just amazing and it’s run so well by their coordinators. After they were married, a sword arch in the stairs commenced right as the skies opened up! Honestly, it looked so cool and only lasted a couple minutes. Thankfully we got back to the rotunda for a newlywed photo segment.
We’re excited to share this wedding for a couple reasons. When we became wedding photographers and as I stalked other photographers I thought the world of, I noticed these Naval Academy weddings that I just thought were so beautiful! It quickly became a bucket list venue for us about 2 years ago.
When we met Sarah and Stephen, I swore that they wouldn’t hire us for the sheer reason that we couldn’t get childcare for Zeke and we had to bring him to our Starbucks meeting. We met with them, Zeke cried most the time, and I ended up facilitating the meeting so Patrick could walk around with a crying baby… oh and it was rainy and we were all in close quarters. Yikes.
These guys opted for quiet waters park in Annapolis because that’s home for them. They both are military and Sarah is a naval academy grad! Their sweet sweet pup Scarlet did awesome! Stephen and Sarah, You guys rocked your session, even though it was cold cold!!! We can’t wait for your wedding day to come!
