This session is one of those that are super fun for us to share. Stephanie and Rick are special to us for a lot of reasons. Stephanie is the sister of one of my brides, Ashley, and was the maid of honor. She did an incredible job for her sisters wedding and I won’t forget when we met, by the end of the night, I secretly hoped that she would be calling us for her wedding! Sure enough, she did, and we were too pumped! Rick is sweet and fun, and loves his dogs, loves his flip-flops and good food. Pretty much like Patrick does, so they paired well all day long. Stephanie and Rick… your day is coming soon… we can’t wait to be alongside you guys! It’s gonna be awesome!
We have been waiting years… yes, years for this incredible wedding with Kevin and Eugenia. When they hired us back in 2019, none of us knew what was coming in a few short months. The pandemic impacted all of us, and thanks to great clients, amazing vendors, and great hope, we knew the day would come and we would all be able to celebrate these two amazing people.
Kevin and Eugenia had a gorgeous day on Gibson Island. A year prior to this day, Kevin and Eugenia made their marriage official on the boat slips on Gibson Island surround by immediate family and handful of friends. To be back on the island felt great, and this time with 10x the amount of people! The morning kicked off with the bridesmaids getting ready at the cottage while the guys golfed and hung out at the clubhouse. Kevin and Eugenia anticipated the moments leading up to their first look. I loved how Kevin looked at his wife as if it was really their wedding day, and not just a party. We cruised around the property of the club and then met the bridal party to go back to the boat docks for portraits. With smaller families we were able to get them a lot of variety and as we say on most wedding days “kids are like popsicles, eventually they melt” and the littles did great until they couldn’t anymore.
I am sooo excited to share photos from Jasmine and Brian’s Baltimore themed engagement session! They are big Ravens fans and Orioles fans, so we met outside the Baltimore Ravens stadium and worked our way around town. They were so much fun and happy to walk around the city to be able to shoot at spots that had important memories for them. Luckily, the Orioles had a night game, so in the morning we were able to shoot at both sides of the stadium with no people around. The Marriott Camden Yards is the host hotel for their wedding, so Jasmine was excited to have the stadium photos to print for the weekend festivities. After the Orioles stadium, we walked over to Pratt Street Ale House where they are considering having their welcome party, and did some fun shots there. It was bright, but we were able to find shade and make the most of it! We finished at the Inner Harbor waterfront, where no shoot is complete without a photobomb from the pirate ship. We decided we were done, so I took Jasmine’s ring for a photo, and when I turned around, Brian was over at Rita’s collecting the perfect end to an engagement session – ice cream! So of course we needed to shoot a few more while they enjoyed some soft serve and laughed together. Thanks for a great session, Jasmine and Brian, I am so excited to capture your special day this fall!!
Yah! Our third “wedding” of 2021! The reason we have “wedding” in quotations was because we didn’t actually photograph the ceremony, just the first look and their newlywed photos! Ariel and Josh were surprised by their friends who gifted us to them for their wedding day! Due to numbers at their wedding, they decided that they wanted us to photograph their first look and newlywed photos at their alma mater, The University of Maryland. We were so excited to be with Ariel and Josh for a couple hours. It was SOO cold, but these guys did amazing and didn’t complain once!
We met Candice and Nick at a bridal expo at Rosewood Farms in late 2019 right before anyone knew a pandemic was headed this way. Candice and Nick are a genuine, sweet, and just down to earth couple that we could easily find ourselves staying friends with for years to come. Candice and Nick postponed their June 2020 wedding to December 2020 and decided to have their wedding regardless of people count. They knew they just wanted to be married, have family and friends present, and they did.
If there was one couple this year that I had to say was the most daring… it would be these two. The decision was made for an outdoor ceremony fully knowing that the radar was showing rain. Everything was wet and damp, overcast, a little gray, but you would never know from photos. You know why… because we LOVE a good partly cloudy, overcast day. It’s the BEST lighting for head to toe even light, a phrase and method we aim for with every wedding we shoot.
What I thought was so neat about this wedding was that this was a destination wedding for these two. No one in their families are from Maryland or even live in Maryland. In fact, most of the bridal party and family flew in or drove in for this wedding. We didn’t realize that until half way through speeches when we figured out that no one was from the area. These two were supposed to get married on the 4th of July but due to COVID decided to postpone the wedding. We were so excited to be alongside these guys along with our film team so we were pretty thrilled to go into this day ready and excited. Something else special about this wedding for us is that Kari, the wedding planner, is one of our past brides! SO that was really cool to be able to work alongside her. She knows how we roll and together we were able to help the day roll seamlessly and beautifully!
This October wedding day was sooo beautiful and so fun to photograph. I’ve known Jon a long time and so being able to shoot this wedding was really fun and special! Throughout the day, you could just tell how much fun Alex and Jon were having. Even though the morning was spent in separate locations, when the two of them met up for their first look, it was really a first look and both of them had such a blast together. The rest of the day was full of laughter, sweet memories, dancing. Although COVID had an impact on their day and guest count, you would have never known because the wedding was still so special, so memorable and ultimately unforgettably fun.
Patrick wins this wedding for sure. He not only creeped our couple out at a bridal show, but every wedding one of us wins best segments. And he won. Let me explain. Nate and Patrick played ball together and against each other years and years ago. Fast forward, out of touch.
Then one day at a bridal show, Patrick says to me “I know that guy.” Now Christine would 100% say because she did tell us this, that she looks over and sees this guy staring at Nate. She said she was a little freaked out at first but then when Christine and Nate came over, the stars aligned and basically some great friendship were sparked!
We were so excited when Shannon and Rob told us that they were still planning to have their October 2020 wedding. Shannon and Rob were our very first engagement session of 2020 right before Covid came to town. That session was beautiful and you should totally check it out.
Their wedding day was so much fun. The morning started with all the girls and guys getting ready at a local hotel. I remember walking into the hotel lobby and I could hear her giggling coming from a conference room a few doors from the lobby. Upon walking into that room the girls were beaming with smiles. Shannon looks so rested and excited for the day. Patrick meet Rob soon after at the venue to find him beaming as well. If there’s one thing we remember about meeting these guys it was how sweet and smiley they were not just with each other but just talking about their wedding and their plans. Prior to the ceremony Shannon shared a first look with her dad. That exchange was sweet and tender. Proud might be a better word choice for his view of his daughter on her wedding day. Shannon and Rob chose not to do a first look which I thought was so special. Patrick and I did a first look when we got married so whenever any of our couples opt not to do a first look, it resonates with us. Rob’s reaction of seeing Shannon was just so special. Long await and anticipated.
Nicole and Ray were a BLAST to work with. Their sense of humor is incredible… they had Patrick and I laughing our whole time together! They wanted photos in Towson due to it being a fav place of theirs and it’s where they spent their college years. We spent the first half of their session at the Historic Hampton Mansion and then went to Towson for the second half. They met in the Towers on campus, dorms side by side. Both were athletes at Towson, Baseball and Track/Field.
Guys, we loved your session! If you don’t already know, we love when pets are included in sessions. “Nike” their Great Dane/Lab mix was so sweet (Thanks Kelsey for helping out with Nike!).
