This wedding for me is beyond special to share with you. Katie and I have been friends for over 10 years! She was in my wedding 7 years ago and is a treasure and a gem. She’s one of those friends that no matter what happens in life, how many months (or years for that matter) go by, that when you get on the phone, you laugh just as hard as you did when you saw each other day to day.
When Katie not just told me she was engaged, invited us to her wedding, asked us to shoot it AND that it was going to be in Mexico, Patrick and I didn’t hesitate. Yes, Mexico is amazing, but guys, this was our first legit destination wedding outside the US so it was a pretty big deal for us. It was a bucket list item to be totally honest and we are so happy that we got to be alongside them. I jokingly told Katie that if she had a wedding party, I would have been in it. So I made us shirts to wear prior to the wedding and enjoyed every minute being able to be there, support her, help work out logistics, etc.
I’ve known Erin for 10 years which is crazy. She’s Patrick’s first cousin actually. I met Erin for the first time when I came to the Nolans 4th of July party when I started dating Patrick. Or maybe it was Christmas. I don’t actually remember. What I do remember though was that Patrick had beautiful cousins and they were single. What the… so over the years I got to know Erin and what a gem she is. It was at a wedding back in 2016 that Patrick and I were at the Chesapeake Bay beach club and about 10 minutes before ceremony was starting, guests were still coming in. In walks Erin and her boyfriend Chris. I had met Chris before but something this time stood out to me. We asked “wait, how are you guys here.” And Chris informed us that he was a cousin to our groom. Such small worlds! After that wedding, we’d see Chris and Erin at other family events and we knew something was brewing. I mean this is our world and we can see things progressing for a lot of our friends and family haha. When Erin and Chris got engaged we actually didn’t really react as we didn’t want to be the photographers like “hire us for your wedding!” We gave them space. But when Erin reached out, I was ecstatic! We were so honored they wanted us to shoot their wedding.
Beach engagement sessions are some of our favorite. The salty air, the breeze that hits the dress and makes it do what only wind can do. Foot prints in the sand and wet feet. We love it all. Lindsay and Matt were champions. Our 2.5 hour engagement quickly became 4 (by accident) we were having so much fun and cruising all around a private golf course (by foot unfortunately, I love golf carts). These two never tired out… except at the end when we all realized we were starving and then went and ate the biggest chimichangas, enchiladas, and burritos.
Yah! Our first official shoot fo the new year! Alyssa and Sammy are kicking off our 2019 Wedding and Engagement season! We have a pretty big break between now and May with a wedding here and there and engagement sessions rare with this weather.
We totally lucked out! January 6th, sunny, and beautiful. Cold, but could have been so much worst! Sammy and Alyssa are our super cute southern couple who live in Raleigh, NC! They came up into town for their session and to visit family. It was totally fitting to do their engagement session at a sentimental place. A park where they walked their dogs, and place visited often with family and pups.
Our time with Alyssa and Sammy was special. We got to know them, learn ab
I’ve known Aubrie for like 8 or 10 years… something insane. We met through church and we have been great friends with her parents for years. When Aubrie got engaged I was like a giddy little girl… probably because Aubrie is like a little sister to me. She was in my wedding party 5 years ago. To be shooting her wedding is so so special to us.
We are so excited to share this beach and champagne engagement session. Kaity and Tyler reached out to us about doing their pictures in Fenwick because it’s where they got engaged. The timing worked out for us because we would be down at the beach for a week and we’d love to see them and meet up for their session.
Allison and Mario got married mid-September and had a beautiful ceremony! They found us through Wedding Wire, and we had an amazing time shooting their engagement session in Alexandria. After Patrick did some scavenging, he found a great spot for sunset shots on the water! We totally love how the evening light made this beautiful couple look even more beautiful!
Mario and Allison had a super sweet ceremony at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club right on the water! It was great to watch them join together as one, surrounded by friends and so much family! Maggie was even able to brush up on her Spanish as she got to know Mario’s parents.
It was so great to spend the day with you both. You are both so fun and easy to get along with and we just love to get to know you! Thank you for hiring us, letting us love on you, and for staying in our lives as friends even after your big day!
Patrick and I were at a bridal show when we met Connie. She wasn’t a bride, but a vendor. Connie and I hit it off and she began to tell us her story. Oh how I WISH you could have heard the beauty surrounding her vision for her wedding day. Duane and Connie incorporated beautiful elements into her wedding day. Both her mom and her grandmother passed within the last year and a half. Her mom passed first, then her grandmom. I’ll never forget when Connie shared with us that she was going to have a “different” wedding. Her two sons were to walk her down the aisle, and she would do a surprise bouquet presentation to her aunt… her mom’s identical sister. You should have seen Connie and Duane at their wedding. I’ve never seen so many smiles. These two danced as much as they could and smiled even more. Working with Connie and Duance was such an honor. These two have SO MANY FRIENDS and I think that will be very obvious once you see their guests and how much fun they had. They are loved by so many people!
