To date we’ve rescheduled 27 weddings in our company between all our teams which I just find insane. So much has been robbed from our couples from Covid and government restrictions. But I have to say, in the midst of the uncertainty and chaos, we seriously have the most incredible stories and couples. Here’s one of them.
We met Maria at the Four Seasons bridal show last year and knew that her and Shantanu would be one of our favorite weddings of 2020. They would have a beautiful 3 day Indian wedding on our calendar and we were pumped to shoot it. I told them at our engagement session that I may have been a little more excited about Indian food and culture because I spent a month in India in college and loved it. Over the last few months we’ve gotten closer to these guys.
What a session for the records! If there’s a couple who rocked their rainy day engagement session, it’s these two!
First off, I’d like to say that there wasn’t any rain in the forecast, or rather it was like 10% and not even on the radar, literally. Miranda and I made the call that we would go through with the session! We met them at the Pagoda at Patterson Park. We used to do sessions there ALL.THE.TIME… like in 2015… but for the last couple years none of our couples chose that location. We were pretty excited to return to that gem in Baltimore because 1) we obviously have gotten better over the years but 2) it meant something special to our couple.
Their dog Piper did awesome and although didn’t find the camera too friendly, she rocked her segments nonetheless.
Excited to share our first engagement session of Quarantine 2020!
Back in March, we wrapped up a Fells Point Engagement session for one of our couples days before heading out on a week long cruise. We needed a break, we needed time off before a crazy wedding season would be upon us. Little did we know it would be our last one in Baltimore for 2 months. Within hours of getting back into the nation, we would be one of the last boats to go to sea. We also didn’t know that 60 some days would pass between that Fells Point session, and this session. Say hello to engagement sessions during Quarantine.
To give you background, Kayleigh and Clark booked us at the very beginning the pandemic in Maryland for their 2021 wedding and they are amazing. They are also historic for us. They are the first engagement session we’ve had in the middle of a pandemic. They had to wait until we got approval from the city, and then they saw us in a very “nervous” state, something that most our couples don’t see. We love the chaos of wedding days, the uncertainty of wedding logistics even the planned ones, but throw government regulations into the mix, yikes. We wanted to law abide but we knew we were allowed to work too… ghost streets, and little traffic was just not normal so we felt free too to be creative and give these guys some shots we normally would not have gotten.
Our first engagement of the 2020 year has happened and we are sooo glad it was Shannon and Rob! I jokingly said, “we’re a little rusty” because it had been 3 days since our last wedding of 2019. We all laughed.
Shannon and Rob are the cutest! They really didn’t have a set location they wanted to shoot at so we proposed a few ideas and we ended up heading into Baltimore the first week of January into Harbor East to rock their session all around the Inner Harbor. We cruised and covered so much land in a short amount of time. Shannon’s outfit was soo cute (LOVED the black dress) and the weather was supposed to rain so the overcast skies allowed for some beautiful backdrops and lighting.
Shannon and Rob, you guys crushed it… AND even though you tota
Mandy and Chris just moved back from Annapolis to Baltimore! Welcome home! We did a cute homecoming engagement session downtown Baltimore and got some of my new favorite shots! We went to Locust Point, Fort McHenry, Under Armour, the American Visionary Art Museum, and Fed Hill! Take a note from these two and be flexible and you’ll end up with gorgeous photos!
A black bridal jacket, gorgeous flowers, and a rockin’ band, this wedding was so so good. Marisa and Kris had such a cool wedding. We were really excited to photograph at the Winslow, a newer wedding venue in Baltimore City. Earlier this year, we drove up to Long Island New York for their engagement session. It included a classic club car and lots of laughter and adventure! We couldn’t believe how fast their wedding came up on us. We felt like we had just driven to New York when we shot their wedding.
I always tell people “Anyone can go to the top of Federal Hill, it’s free!” But here’s the thing… when it’s your home or your backyard, heck ya, you shoot there!
Krissy and DJ found us online, maybe google, maybe IG, but there’s one thing that’s for sure, when we met these guys, there was no denying this would be such a great match. When we meet with couples we try really hard not to make it like an interview, because it’s awkward for all of us… just like the start of all our engagement sessions.
My 2020 couples are blessing me with new locations and experiences and I’m so thankful! For Clare and Zach’s session we went down to Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis and traversed the land! It is such a beautiful park: gazebos, trees, fields, high grass, and water! My favorite part (besides hanging with these two cuties!) were seeing all the fluffer puppers!! Even at the brightest part of the day, we were able to find some open shade and get some fun photos.
Olivia and Tim were seriously such a sweet couple for us. The morning with them all was a whirlwind. Olivia was so cute when she said all she wanted was to marry Tim and dance so much. Though the morning was a super tight timeline due to the time we were all allowed on site, the girls rocked it. Olivia never showed any signs of stressed. I think she just decided she was going to have the most amazing day along side her fiance Tim who would become her husband that day.
