Well, during the blizzard, I felt it fitting to actually work on something personal, instead of another wedding, engagement or wedding related! AND since it was so cold, I had to think of warm weather. SO, today we present, our Bahamas Cruise blog post! YAH!
Last year (7 months ago), Heather, who is now my cousin by marriage, but is really one of my BFFs, invited Patrick and I to come along on John’s Birthday Cruise! John Mike and Heather also found out they were expecting, so we decided a double date vacation was fitting. It would be an anniversary cruise, babymoon cruise, birthday cruise, and end of wedding season cruise, and get away cruise. We left out of Baltimore the day after we shot a double header wedding on January 1st and 2nd. It was awesome!
Oh and in case your wondering… yes… of course we did a photoshoot in the Bahams with a fabulous couple we met on the cruise. We met them in the MIddle of the Atlantic and now have new friends that live in PA! You can see their photoshoot here!
Now back to our trip and itinerary. We had an absolute blast! Although we took our cameras (fancy ones and go pro and iphones) we actually didn’t take as many pictures as we thought. It was pretty nice to just be hands-free for the week. If you didn’t notice, we were instagram-silent for a week… I know, right! It was actually really healthy for me to focus on my husband, my marriage, my friendships, and myself. BUT… we did take some pictures, so here ya go!
We left Baltimore on a chilly day and started sailing South for 2 days. We really didn’t take any pics those two days. I know… don’t judge us!
1st PORT OF CALL: PORT CANAVERAL
We took an excursion in Port Canaveral that was awesome! AIR BOAT TOURS! Seriously, awesome. Here’s a video!
Here’s some pics of our boat and our excursion!
2nd PORT OF CALL: NASSAU
After Port Canaveral we were in Nassua. The last time we were there we found a beach called Junkanoo Beach… just don’t go there. Just look at the name of it. Get it? OK. This time around, we knew to take a ferry over to Paradise Island, and headed to the Public Beach. The waters were so rough, we couldn’t get in, and literally saw a man almost drown. Clothes ripped off, naked, I ended up covering him up with a towel for his dignity. It was really scary. So thankful that he got back to the ship alive. BUT even with those circumstances, the beach was beautiful!
After we hung out on the beach for a while, we headed back to the Ferry to meet our new friends for their photoshoot! Josh and Alyssa were amazing. Seriously rockstars. Met us on the boat, got on a ferry to meet to random strangers (Us) and then to trust us to walk around the island to take some GORGEOUS pics… here’s a few sneaks. Click here to see their blog post!
We got back to the boat in time to take some fun pics with the boat at night before departing for Freeport, Bahamas!
LAST PORT OF CALL: FREEPORT
Alright, so then the next day was awesome!! We woke up early, and JM, Heather, Patrick and I ventured out to meet our group for our second excursion of the trip! SNORKELING! Ok… for the record… the only real phobia I have in this life is Sharks. Like I hate them. I would cuss them out. But really, I am so flippin scared of sharks… but I LOVE marine life and the ocean, sand feet and sunshine. I love color and the amazing science and beauty of what God has created below in the mystery of the ocean. Did you know, only 3% of the ocean has been discovered? We know more about space then the sea. Wow! (Thanks to one of our amazing Radiant Coupes who work for NOAH)! Anyway, I decided to suck it up, and go snorkeling in deep waters!
Oh and here’s a little recap of snorkeling!
So I survived, which was great. No sharks that I saw. BUT we saw lots of turtle, manta ray, sting ray, beautiful fish, fire coral, lots of sea urchins and things I don’t know what they were but were beautiful!! I’ve got to figure out how to use our go pro better!
Anyway! We had a blast and it was definitely a great vacation to celebrate an amazing 2015 wedding season and to kick off 2016! We have 35 amazing weddings already booked this year and can’t wait for the adventures that await!!
AND FOR THOSE the kept reading… here’s a fun video from the Carnival Pride’s WaterSlide!
