In 2015, my mom’s high school best friend reached out to me asking what our pricing was. She had a daughter getting married and knew we were photographers and wanted us to shoot her daughters wedding. Marybeth and Brads wedding was one of our first weddings as full-time photographers. 4 years later, Ms Cathy emails me again. This time for her son. Of course, “we’d be honored” I told her.
Meet Mo and David. When Monique and David hired us, alongside Ms Cathy, we were so excited. Mainly because we had worked with this family before, knew they were good people, and secretly, I was really excited to see Marybeth and Brad again. The last time we saw them was when we said goodbye at the end of their wedding.
We didn’t do an engagement session with Mo and David, so when wedding day came, these guys were ready and excited to not just get beautiful photos but to spend time together doing it. Every time I asked Mo if she had a preference on something, she would say “whatever you want, I trust you.” This allowed us to take them to some cool places and spots at a venue we had never photographed before. So here we are with a couple we haven’t photographed before at a venue we’ve never photographed at before.
Their ceremony was under the lights under a tent at dusk, followed by a cocktail hour in their reception space. Speeches were made from dads and dear friends, and first dances and hockey songs played loud. Did I mention these two met playing hockey together? Not your typical first date but awesome nonetheless.
Monique and David, we loved your wedding. We are so excited for you to look through your gallery and find little treasures, things you didn’t see and moments that you’ll treasure forever. We wish you guys the best!
