For those of you who don’t know. I love crossfit. I love it because it motivates me, structures me, pushes me, and makes my body and mind strong and capable. I hate it because some days it sucks, the work outs are mind blowing, and my body will hurt… this week, I struggled to climb steps and get dressed, but of course… I can’t wait to get back to the box.
I’ve been doing crossfit for almost 2 years. I started about a year and a half ago thanks to my company, Blue Ocean Ideas, as a company competition.
A month ago, I dropped in on a Crossfit down near Patrick’s parents house. I’m helping his parents with some projects they have going on and figured I may as well find something close that would keep me in shape. Crazy small world, I inquired with Crossfit Revamped about a month ago. I came back a week ago and signed on, only to find out that my husband played ball with Crossfit Revamped owner Gary Helmick.
Gary and his wife Alea are awesome. Can’t wait for a double date. They are the owners. I’ve only known them for a week and they seem incredible. The facility is awesome, and it’s a great atmosphere. I already feel so welcomed by the folks I’ve met there. For those of you looking to be a part of a create community… you’ll find it here… and get in shape making friends.
As I become part of this crossfit community, I’m helping out with photographing events, WODs (workout of the day), and details. This past week I went to capture one of the WODs and the facility, prior to my own workout. Here’s the results! Enjoy!
Goal setting is an important part of life, especially fitness. I remember being heavier in college and setting goals to get in shape and get down to a size 8 from a size 12. I’m currently a size 6. Without setting goals, writing it down, and putting yourself to work, it’s hard to accomplish. Make time for the things you love and that are important to you: fitness, family, God, etc.
I loved reading the goal setting board at Revamped… it was pretty encouraging. Loved the wall as well where folks can write the date of their accomplishments.
Thanks Crossfit Revamped for welcoming me with open arms. Pumped to get in and pump some iron with you all and get to know you more. It’s great having friends in different parts of the state and connecting with folks who love what I love.
For more info about Crossfit Revamped, check out their site! It was great seeing some of my shots on their site.
