Justin and Alyssa seriously have the best luck with rain. Let me explain.
Justin had this amazing proposal planned downtown at the 4 Seasons. As he was getting ready to propose… a huge storm with torrential rain blew in, and Justin was freaking out about where on earth he would propose that night that was the least bit dry. So… he proposed on the steps of the Four Seasons hotel. A stunning backdrop to a proposal I must say.
It was only fitting that their engagement session had to include rain. We were going to postpone the shoot but Alyssa and Justin said “let’s go for it.” The first two hours of their 3 hour, 2 location shoot was perfect. Overcast skies at Cylburn was just what we wanted and these guys ROCKED their session. Gorgeous lighting. A natural filter in the sky. Then we headed downtown to the Four Seasons and the storm started to blow in.
I’m so excited to share this wedding because it’s one of those make you cry stories. Sarah and Alex have been together 9 years. They are high school sweethearts and honestly… they are genuine sweet hearted people.
Photographing their 200 guest,Blush and Slate Blue Classic wedding was beautiful. I cried during the ceremony and had to pull myself together.
So even though I’m a wedding photographer, I LOVE organizing and hosting events, and of course designing them too. I joined a group of ladies and hosted a beautiful baby shower for my sister-in-law for 40 women. It was themed just like Lauren’s maternity session with sunflowers, but my mom and I decided it would be a great idea to weave in their nursery. Chevron and Baby Elephants!
First off, I think it’s pretty amazing that we have now shot the same destination wedding venue twice, two years apart.
Gillbrook Farms is a beautiful farm up in Warriors Mark, PA, near Penn State. Literally, State College is where we stayed and drove in from.
Christina and Chris’ outdoor wedding was perfect. The best weather day, sun in the sky with some clouds, and their color palette was on point for their Navy, Grey and Whites themed wedding (which pops of light pinks and coral!)
They wanted their wedding to be Old World Elegant (Romantic/Vintage) with a barn styled reception. I personally loved that the centerpieces were years. Patrick and I even sat and 1980 and let me tell you, we are babes of the 80’s.
Christina and Chris had a beautiful ceremony where they exchanged their own written vows infront of family and friends, and they were married by Christina’s Uncle, which I think is always really special when family unite our couples.
I’ll never forget this sweet couple of ours. I walked into Starbucks, ready for a normal meeting, and I see this non-millennial couple sitting on the couches, signing and smiling to each other. I smiled, got a table and waited. Little did I know that this same couple was a bride and groom to be waiting for me. We locked eyes, communicated who we were, and with that, sat at the table. That day I was challenged to not talk, but to show and share, and using technology get to know a couple that would soon become a Radiant Bride + Groom.
THIS POST IS SO SPECIAL TO US!! Becky is my “little sister” who is all grown up and an amazing woman. I’m so proud to call her my sister. Becky has been living in Australia the last three years for school and while there met an incredible man named Michael, a Samoan who officially became our brother-in-law in January.
Becky and Michael had a super fun Stateside reception to bring together family and friends and celebrate their marriage! They got married on the water in Melbourne, and their stateside reception was held at the same location Patrick and I did only ours was 3.5 years ago! We got to be both bridal party and photographers (for just part of the day) and dance alongside Becky and Michael. You’ve gotta check out the photobooth pictures too to see my crazy family. My personal favorite… the donut wall. I mean, donuts for days!!
