Yah! We are so excited to share our last wedding of 2017 with you all. This wedding is pretty special because the bride and I go way back to Middle School and High School. Allie and I both attended Bryn Mawr together and after graduation really didn’t see or talk to each other except on social media. When Allie got engaged, and inquired we were thrilled.
What a wedding! What a couple! We met Caroline at a bridal show earlier in the year and I remember thinking… how cool would it be if Elphaba hired us. For those that don’t know who Elphaba, shame on you haha. Just kidding. But really… Elphaba is the lead in the NYC Broadway show Wicked. Our bride Caroline was Elphaba for a few years. Bummer that I didn’t get to see her when I went, I was a year too early! Fast forward a few months after the bridal show, we get an inquiry from this super cute guy named Austin Colby, (yes I stalk all of you who inquire) and he is also a broadway guy. They wanted to Skype us and soon they would hire us for their Turf Valley Wedding. We were so thrilled when Caroline and Austin hired us as we knew 1) they’d be a great fit personality-wise with us, but 2) their wedding would not only be beautiful but an incredible party.
Lauren and Alex were one of our last fall engagement session of 2017. They had the last of the leaves, the last of the golden lighting in the fall, and the last warm weather… well kinda haha. It actually was a really chilly day and these guys did awesome. We talked about all things wedding and life, and dogs. Lauren and Alex have 2 cute dogs… but definitely didn’t make the cut for the esession (I was sad). Anyway, we are so excited to shoot their 2018 Springfield Manor wedding… it’s gonna be beautiful out there in October!!
Meet Nicole and Mike. We first met Nicole because of her friend Ashley, who also hired us for her wedding!! Check out their session here!
These two guys are so so fun. We LOVE that they rocked their Italian leather jackets that they got in Europe when they got engaged! We can’t wait to shoot their wedding!!
Talk about a cold engagement session… these guys were champs in the super super cold. We literally had Federal Hill to ourselves with Stephanie and Patrick as they rocked their session! Stephanie braved the cold with a gorgeous dress and beautiful fur wrap to both keep her warm but also to rock for fashion!
The first hour of our job on a wedding day is to gauge the bridal party, access the details, and photograph all those GORGEOUS details that make up a huge part of the day. When we arrived at Beth and Justin’s home, upstairs hanging in their closet was a 1956 wedding gown. Purchased in 1957 from Hochschild Kohn’s department store for $150 by Beth’s great-grandfather. He basically bought her wedding gown. Her gown was worn by her grandmother, her mother, her aunt, and now by her. How incredible. Probably my favorite dress of the year!
Meet Stephanie and Keith. These guys are huge Disney fans. We have a lot of couples that love Disney, but these guys actually incorporated Disney into their engagement and their wedding day. Keith proposed to Stephanie on January 3, 2016 – one day before their two year anniversary – in Walt Disney World. He got down on one knee at their private beach at the Caribbean Beach Resort while it drizzled lightly and the fireworks lit up the sky. He carried the ring in his pocket through an entire day of Disney fun, including adventure rides and tours of Epcot and Hollywood Studios, before popping the question. At their wedding, their centerpieces were beautiful Cinderella gold Carriages, and the theme of their wedding was “Our Love Story” with elements of fairy tale, travel and baseball… Keith is a huge baseball fan. You can imagine the fun Patrick and Keith had at their engagement session talking all about baseball! I think one of the coolest reception pieces was the cake topper in glass. It’s over 100 years old with a story you can read about below. I love family heirlooms at weddings!!
We love photographing “sibling” clients. What that means is that we’ve had the honor of shooting more than one siblings wedding in one family. Years ago, patrick shot Morgan + Wayne’s wedding… way before we went full time when we were very very partirme, had tons of school debt, and trying to figure out life.
Well, fast forward, we get an email one day from a super cute couple wanting to meet with us because they wanted us to shoot their wedding! We were floored!
I love this little family session! Nicole is a “friendor” friend! I know her because we shoot a lot of weddings at Turf Valley and Nicole is the Director of Marketing there. What’s so cool for me about this session is that I haven’t seen their little girl Niccolina since I did her newborn photos!! Just crazy how fast babies change and grow. I loved seeing her little personality… wait until you see it as you scroll!!
Gah!! Everything about this wedding!!
Fadi and Stephanie said I Do overlooking the rolling hills of Musket Ridge!! You’ve gotta see their sunset portraits, I mean, I felt like we were in California!!
We’ve become really good friends with these guys! They are so much fun and honestly so sweet!! We were counting down the days to shoot their wedding.
As you scroll below you can’t help but smile. These guys shared a “first touch” during which they touched hands, didn’t see each other and read letters they wrote to each other. Fadi said “no, I’m not crying” as he wiped tears from his eyes. It was very obvious during the ceremony that Fadi was taken back by all of Stephanie. We LOVE his reaction to seeing his bride.
