This may be a sappy post but you better keep reading. Heather and Tyler are one of our 2016 couples. They got married on a beautiful September day. Within a year of being married, Tyler got diagnosed with cancer. He beat it once and we celebrated alongside them.
Earlier this year it came back, in another part of his body. We stood alongside these two, prayed with them, spoke life over them, and declared healing, joy, and believed for the miraculous once again in their lives.
Guys… yesterday, Heather and Tyler got the news from his doctor that the PET scan came back, and he is in complete remission! Thank you Jesus! I cried in the bathroom yesterday morning when Tyler text us on our group chat.
We met Brooke at a bridal show at Turf Valley earlier in the year and she ended up being our engagement session winner. I remember when I met her and we talked, she was so sweet and kind. When we found that she and Nick wanted to meet with us and hire us for their wedding, we were so excited. These two lovebirds get married in March 2019 and we spent our time with them for their session in DC. We literaly galavanted all over the mall in DC from the Jefferson Memorial to the Reflecting Pond and the WWII Memorial.
O.M.G…. can we just stop and say…. Jenn and Brent got FALLLLLLLL engagement photos. As ya’ll know, this has been such a wet year and the weather is having an identity crisis. We had literally rescheduled Brent and Jenn a few times because of weather and other scenarios and we just lucked out with the weather and the coloration for their day! It wasn’t and shouldn’t have been so colorful, but it was and we aren’t complaining.
Jenn and Brent, we absolutely loved our time with you. It doesn’t help that we are biased towards these two for 2 reasons. Brent works for an amazing Ellicott City realtor and happens to know Patrick’s cousin pretty well. And Jenn works for us part time and is a killer dancer!
We met these lovebirds at a bridal show and they were the winners of the session giveaway. Kendria and Gladstone are getting married in the Dominican Republic (please take us with you) and it’s going to be beautiful! These two did great and Kendria’s dress was my favorite. The two of them together looked so incredible. I’m so excited for these two and the journey they are on!
We’re excited to share this wedding for a couple reasons. When we became wedding photographers and as I stalked other photographers I thought the world of, I noticed these Naval Academy weddings that I just thought were so beautiful! It quickly became a bucket list venue for us about 2 years ago.
When we met Sarah and Stephen, I swore that they wouldn’t hire us for the sheer reason that we couldn’t get childcare for Zeke and we had to bring him to our Starbucks meeting. We met with them, Zeke cried most the time, and I ended up facilitating the meeting so Patrick could walk around with a crying baby… oh and it was rainy and we were all in close quarters. Yikes.
These two dated in Old Ellicott City and had their first kiss in Old Ellicott City, so it was fitting to do their photos in Old EC. Unfortunately, EC isn’t the same as it used to be, so we had to venture around and find hidden beauty in the rubble. Thanks so much Lauren and Kyle for allowing us to move about, see what we could do with limited locations in a super cute town. This town means a lot to all 4 of us and we are so glad we got to spend time getting to know each other in a town we all love. Oh and that Manor Hill Tavern… we’ve gotta go back and order enough food to have left overs. Clearly we were hungry the first time haha. And Holy Smoke… what a good one. Guys, we can’t wait for your wedding in December! It’s gonna be here so so soon!
Oh Annapolis. Sometimes I think I probably should have been an Annapolis raised girl, only because I love the water, love to sail, love the feel of small towns, local shops, unique food, and love our country and our military.
When James and Jenn said they wanted their photos to be some where different, somewhere not in Baltimore, I knew where to take them. They really wanted photos throughout Annapolis, including at USNA. So, we ventured throughout town. We of course picked by accident the same day as a huge boat show right down Ego Alley, but even still, you wouldn’t have known that Annapolis was swamped with boat show peeps.
Jenn and James, we loved our time with you. Thanks for letting us go a little longer than we were supposed to get you a pretty sweet night shot.
Kind and Sweet is how Patrick describes these two. When we did their engagement session we knew they were special. They were sweet, sincere, gentle, soft, and kind. They aren’t pushy, loud, obnoxious or self focused. Opposite from our personalities we somehow loved our time together, and found ourselves getting to know each other at the Mount Washington Tavern after dinner.
We have an inside joke with them. Two words: Little Sebastian. A little mole that photobombed their engagement session and since has just been a joke between the four of us.
When their wedding day came, Amy gets the award for most calm, laid back, and chill bride. She wasn’t anxious or nervous. When we met up with Eliott, we asked how he was feeling. His response… I’m not nervous, I’m excited.
Alison and Alex, we can’t even begin to tell you how pumped we were to shoot your wedding. Your wedding was the last wedding we had in October. It was the last of 11 weeks in a row of weddings. We had 15 weddings in 11 weeks not to mention other sessions, shoots, and meetings. Shooting your wedding was the icing on the cake, and we were so thrilled to be there with you guys.
The day started off with the laughter of bridesmaids as I walked into the room. As we walked in, the girls were just smiling and then I saw my bride Alison, looking so incredible and so excited for her wedding day. We weren’t there long before we drove to Rolling Road Country Club where Alex and Alison shared a first look on the golf course. Followed by photos with family and wedding party, their photo segment ended with us all in golf carts cruising the property, chasing light and beautiful locations.
