I’ve known Erin for 10 years which is crazy. She’s Patrick’s first cousin actually. I met Erin for the first time when I came to the Nolans 4th of July party when I started dating Patrick. Or maybe it was Christmas. I don’t actually remember. What I do remember though was that Patrick had beautiful cousins and they were single. What the… so over the years I got to know Erin and what a gem she is. It was at a wedding back in 2016 that Patrick and I were at the Chesapeake Bay beach club and about 10 minutes before ceremony was starting, guests were still coming in. In walks Erin and her boyfriend Chris. I had met Chris before but something this time stood out to me. We asked “wait, how are you guys here.” And Chris informed us that he was a cousin to our groom. Such small worlds! After that wedding, we’d see Chris and Erin at other family events and we knew something was brewing. I mean this is our world and we can see things progressing for a lot of our friends and family haha. When Erin and Chris got engaged we actually didn’t really react as we didn’t want to be the photographers like “hire us for your wedding!” We gave them space. But when Erin reached out, I was ecstatic! We were so honored they wanted us to shoot their wedding.
I don’t even know where to start with this wedding and this couple. I’m 2015 we shot a wedding for Tim and Steph. There was this guy there who was in charge of the GoPro and he was just nuts. We didn’t care he had one we just knew the footage would be amazing from it (we’ve never seen it but can only imagine the goodness of it). Years later, Katie and Brandon reach out to us to get info on wedding photography. When we connected the dots we knew this would be one amazing couple and wedding. At their engagement session Brandon knew he would saber champagne and they love pizza so they incorporated both. If you missed it, go see it!
When you show up on a wedding day to the brides getting ready Suite and are welcomed with the biggest hug, you know it’s gonna be a good day.
Gene and Caras wedding was one for the books. We made a killer timeline for these guys, one that is a little rare for us. No first look but 3 hours between ceremony end and cocktail hour start. The morning was sweet with an amazing dad Reveal followed by a traditional Greek ceremony. After our couple recessed down the aisle as newlyweds (woot woot) we dominated family photos followed by an adventure to the inner harbor. Cara wanted photos with Gene in front Baltimore’s historic constellation so we did even better. We got them by it as well as Baltimore skylines and really awesome Baltimore culture in the backdrops.
Tom and Caitlin had a classic and elegant wedding downtown in Fells Point! They had an intimate ceremony in Catonsville at St. Hilda’s Episcopal Church (formerly St. Timothy’s) where Caitlin’s mom got married at years ago! We were even able to recreate her parents’ favorite wedding photo at the church’s door.
What we love about referrals is that we have relationship with many of the folks at the weddings we will shoot in the months to come. Melissa is one of my friends and bridesmaids and she married a really stellar guy named Alex. I was In their wedding which was super special. When Katie and nick came to our first meeting in our home, we knew this would be a neat wedding to shoot as Nick is Melissa’s brother in law, the brother of Alex. We already knew their families and knew we’d see other familiar faces too.
Katie and Nick spent the morning with their bridal parties at private homes. They kept a traditional ceremony so Nick seeing Katie for the first time and seeing all smiles was a pretty surreal moment for them. They had a service as St Marks in Catonsville and following the ceremony, all guests were invited to the quaint but beautiful Overhills Mansion. With photos around the house of Katie and nick through time and candle themed centerpieces, this simple wedding was quite classy and just right for our couple.
In April of 2017, Patrick and I were supposed to shoot a wedding. I ended up getting pregnant during summer wedding season of 2016 and gave our April couples the option to void contract with us since I was unable to shoot the wedding. All 5 of our April weddings kept contract and Patrick and Sarah (our associate team lead) ended up shooting all the April Weddings. Ally and Benny were one of them.
Ally and Benny’s wedding was gorgeous and I was so bummed I had to miss it. Patrick and Sarah dominated that wedding and I jokingly told them “you don’t need me anymore!”
Benny’s sister Molly reached out earlier this year and asked us to photograph her wedding which made my heart so happy. I can’t even tell you how excited I was and honored to shoot a wedding for a sibling to one of our couples.
Korinna and Dustin kicked off our fall 2019 wedding season. We had 22 wedding left in 5 months and couldn’t wait to get rolling with amazing fall weddings.
Our morning with these guys was awesome. We took the limo to the naval academy where family watched and cheered on. Once they had seen each other, Patrick and i cruised all over the campus with our almost married couple and their wedding party. The beauty of first looks is the majority of photos are done on the front end. We did have to spend some more time after ceremony too because there was a huge orientation at the rotunda and Korinna really wanted photos there. We made sure to get them, it would just be a couple hours later. Korinna and Dustin had a gorgeous naval academy wedding. The chapel is just amazing and it’s run so well by their coordinators. After they were married, a sword arch in the stairs commenced right as the skies opened up! Honestly, it looked so cool and only lasted a couple minutes. Thankfully we got back to the rotunda for a newlywed photo segment.
What an awesome session this was! We’d like to say that it’s pretty obvious that Jessica and Jon feel 100% comfortable with each other and they are the ones to put each other at ease, not us. As Fells Point locals, they really wanted their session to capture their love story and so choosing Fells Point for their e-session was a no brainer.
When I think of a vibrant colorful engagement session, I’ll totally think about these two!
Maria and Shantanu are having an Indian/American fusion wedding next October 2020 and we couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this season of life with them.
Our time with them was super sweet… as a Locust Point couple living close to Under Armour, we felt it fitting to do their engagement session near “home” for these two. Patrick and I were excited about it because we realized in all our sessions, we’ve never done a shoot in Locust Point with one of our couples!
