This wedding is so fun for us to post. When we met Zach and Melinda, I’ll never forget thinking how amazing these two are together. Zach is by far one of the most gentle yet strong man… like the kind that leads well, that you’d follow because you trust him. And Melinda, what a babe. She even told me once “I’m not really girly” and I told her straight up, you’re a bombshell… she’s just super humble, so sweet, and I can definitely see us being friends for life.
From our time with them eating dinner after their engagement session, to our final meeting, a few texts, we knew their wedding was bound to be full of fun, tears, and sweet moments. I can’t even say what my favorites were because there were so many cool things that these guys did. So I’m gonna start at the beginning and work my way through the end.
First off, these two love Disney, and specifically Harry Potter. Zach emailed me before their engagement session telling me that he took a Harry Potter book, cut it out, glued it together and during the session when they did the Harry power segment, that she would open it up to find a bracelet engraved. Thoughtful, full of surprise. Even on wedding day, he gave her a pair of custom toms with a castle and Mrs. Miller on the back. So so cool. Harry Potter was woven into their day, but not in a weird way, a really neat, and perfect way. From the astrology geode centerpieces, to wands and jewelry, they were able to weave it into gorgeous florals, classy details like stars in her dress, subtle but there, and even Zach’s love for baseball was included such as in the boutineers and grooms gifts.
These two opted not to do a first look, so Zach’s reaction of seeing Melinda walk down the aisle was worth every second and build up. He cried, and she beamed. Honestly, I loved the whole ceremony. Cocktail hour was enjoyed by guests, and the view at the Manor at Bohemia is stunning, time doesn’t lag. Though they had a huge bridal party, we still got their shot list done and got them to reception almost on time. 😉
At reception, I loved that they honored their parents by playing annviersary songs, the speeches were fun and vibrant, little floral children with their bubble guns, and a really cool boxwood wall with neon sign created by the groomsmen and couple themselves… a fabulous photo booth backdrop.
We stole them for sunset photos to get them a little more variety but got them back to their dance floor in no time where party would rock, the limbo would be done with someones cane, and sparklers would light the way for their send off.
What a day. Melinda and Zach, we loved being there with you. Loved every moment. Thanks for trusting us, even when we were tight on timeline and had to make some audibles.
We can’t wait to see you again and hope these photos leave a legacy of love and life for you! Xo
