I am so excited, maybe the most excited this year in writing a blog post. This whole day, this couple, this bride (who is my friend!) is so special to me. But in order to understand why and who this blog post is about, let me take you back in time and tell a story!
Back in 2014 when we launched our business our first year, I met a woman at a bridal show who ended up becoming one of my 2015 brides. On her wedding day I met her two sons, Chandler and Kyler. At the time Chandler was 18 years old. Fast forward to January 2020. Right before the pandemic hit, I was looking for someone to bring on to help with all things office, blogging, editing, and more. I had hired a photographer named Melissa who had done a job for us but I had never met her in person. When the pandemic hit we pump the brakes totally on bringing in additional help. Later that summer, I went to a backyard luxury wedding in which Melissa’s mom was a guest. At that wedding I connected with Robin, made the connection that Melissa was her daughter. A few weeks after that wedding, I cut Melissa off on the highway on route 70 and she ended up emailing me asking if I was still looking for work. I easily responded and said 1. I’m so sorry for cutting you off (I remembered her car) and 2. Yes I would love to have you start working for us as things start opening up again with weddings, in the fall of 2020.
Melissa is one of the best decisions we ever made with our business. Over the years we’ve had incredible help and I’m thankful for the 2 women (Melissa and Sarah) who were instrumental in our business. I can’t thank them enough. Well Melissa has been with us since 2020 and has become an incredible friend and colleague for our business. Now this is where things get so cool. It wasn’t until a few months in of Melissa working with us that Melissa connected the dots that my 2015 bride I mentioned, was Chandlers mom, Connie!! We made the connection, what a cool and small world! The fact that we have history with his mom and stepdad was so special to us since we shot their wedding too! Love ya Connie and Dwayne!
Now let’s fast forward to last Saturday, May 13. Melissa and Chandler had an incredible wedding day. They are such a dynamic and awesome couple, and even though it rained the majority of the day, we did get pockets of overcast skies (btw we love that) which we were so thankful for. I’m not sure what I loved more; being a bridesmaid alongside my friend, or being her photographer, and shooting alongside her. Having that dual role was incredible and I was so honored that she trusted Patrick and I to fulfill both on her wedding day. You just have to scroll through this wedding. There are so many details beautiful moments, areas of laughter, great dance moves, sentimental and emotional parts of the day that I can’t even articulate because this would be a full essay. But my hope is as you scroll that you find yourself smiling at the beauty of this couple, the sweetness and generosity of their families, and that they are undeniable proof that these two were made to be together. Melissa and Chandler, we love you more than you even know. You have been a gift for our business since the beginning and we can’t imagine our life without you. Cheers to forever. Cheers to the best life ever we pray God‘s blessing on your life. We pray his blessing and hand on your marriage. Know that Patrick and I are always here for you, in any capacity you need. We love you more than you know. xo
