Happy Friday!
Excited today to introduce you to Elise Morgan, our guest blogger today from North Carolina. Today’s she’s sharing all about How to Create Your Perfect Beauty Routine Before the Big Day! Enjoy!
A beautiful bride – and a beautiful day – should be the theme of your perfect routine leading up to the big day. Start a month, or, if you prefer, a few months, before with a daily evening routine of skin pampering and relaxation rituals. A little “me time” each evening will keep your body and spirit beautifully impervious to the rush of planning and social demands.
By beginning a daily home spa routine at least a month before the big day, you establish a natural rhythm that will keep your skin hydrated and your body shedding the daily stress that comes with bringing your wedding vision into focus. A gentle daily exfoliant and moisturizer is essential not only for your face but your entire body. It will give a radiant glow that will be captured in film on your day.
Confirm Salon Appointments
The lead up to the wedding can go like a flash, so it’s important to confirm any salon appointments. Having those appointments set can take last-minute surprises out of the picture. It’s good to schedule waxing and whitening appointments at least a week before the big day. An airbrush appointment should take place 2-3 days ahead. Nails should be done 1-2 days before. Don’t forget to mention lash extensions to your makeup artist if you are considering them.
Schedule a Dermatologist Visit
Even the most organized person can feel the stress of wedding preparations, so if that shows up as skin issues, don’t ignore any signs of skin distress. Instead, schedule a dermatologist appointment. A dermatologist can address those issues most effectively with the advantage of time.
Get Plenty of Sleep
The hidden secret, though, is setting a relaxation and sleep routine in place at least one month before the big day. Whether it is yoga or gentle stretching, a relaxing read, or just kicking your feet up to soft background music, a quiet, soft-lighted relaxation is the perfect transition to a rejuvenating night’s sleep. Getting a good eight hours of sleep the night before your wedding is not enough and, quite frankly, may not be possible. Focus on consistent sleep every night.
Finalize Your Aesthetic
While you are finalizing the appointments needed before your wedding, it would be good to finalize in your mind the look you want on your wedding day. Keep that vision in mind and avoid last-minute experiments. If you are unsure, test the look or procedure out at least a month in advance. Also, just a stress avoider, try not to pick a look that can’t be undone just in case you don’t like it.
While you are setting all these perfect routines, don’t forget to just breathe and enjoy the well wishes of your family and friends. And remember to eat a well-balanced meal the night before and the morning of your wedding. It’s the big day and you will need your strength. The most important thing to remember is that it’s going to be a beautiful day, because you are the most beautiful one in your loved one’s eyes.
xo, Elise
