Many of you received our announcement email when we shared our exciting news. Many of you found out on Facebook or Instagram! Or some of you through my mom haha. Patrick and I are so excited to share that we are expecting a little baby in April 2017. We found out in July and decided to wait until our 3rd year wedding Anniversary (just a week ago) to share our news with the world. (Really it’s because Maggie wanted to wait until she was showing… opps). We had to keep it a secret for 4.5 months! Next time, no way. It was so hard not to tell people, but alas we did.
We decided it would be really fun to do a “lead up” with a total of three images to share leading up to our announcement on our wedding anniversary which was November 2nd, 2013. So we decided that the two days before, we would share leading pics. We shared this post on Halloween, which was the day that we actually did our rehearsal three years prior so it was perfect.
The next picture included a wedding photo but also our three rings, which we would include in our baby announcement along with the three leaves from the picture above. This day three years ago was our third year dating anniversary… which happened the day before we became husband and wife.
Lastly, the announcement! We wanted to incorporate Fall, the three leaves used from the first post, our wedding rings from the second post, and one of our maternity pics and baby sonogram pics to tie it all together.
We were so excited to share all three and create a visual story for friends and family. So on Instagram, this is what our feed looked like!
SO now you can see why we did a lead up! We wanted our feed to not only be pretty, but also to spark curiosity and excitement, so that after the announcement folks could see the common thread… 3rd year wedding anniversary, 3 rings and 3 leaves from our first maternity photoshoot. We are becoming a family of three!!!
Now you get to enjoy our first maternity pics ever by our amazing assistant, Sarah Marie! Our amazing friends at Intrigue Designs made my floral crown, and the babes at Something Blu Beauty did my hair and makeup. So thankful for these businesses and my friends! Enjoy!
Lastly… sweet treat to those that came to the very end of the post…. this is our 19/20 week detailed anatomy ultrasound pic. We are not finding out the gender but you’re welcome to join the lottery of guessing! We have our names picked out too! SOO… here’s our little one, human and all, bones and all! How amazing!?
