This wedding was planned within two weeks. With about 20 people, Olivia and Matt said “I Do” in the presence of intimate family and friends. Olivia’s mom reached out to me two days before the wedding. I had to laugh because I’ve never been contracted for a wedding in under 48 hours and it was the easiest experience! Working with Olivia and her family was so sweet and easy. The day of the wedding it had stormed and poured…and it was torrential rains. Upon arriving to their private home the skies had totally cleared and the weather was beautiful and sun was out. Amazing favor for sure!
I got to do some getting ready segments for Olivia and Matt followed by an intimate ceremony. The reaction of a groom never ceases to amaze me… the first time of him seeing his bride whether in front of 20 people or 250, it’s always soo good.
We cannot even imagine or will we pretend to know what it’s like to reschedule a wedding. But what I can tell you is that the grace and flexibility of our couples is immeasurable. Clare and Zach are one of our 2020 couples that had to reschedule their wedding to next year but in the midst of Covid decided to still get married!
I can basically say that this was officially our third wedding of 2020. It’s amazing to me how many weddings have had to reschedule due to government restrictions and the pandemic.
Hannah and Mart were supposed to be one of our June weddings and unfortunately had to reschedule for 2021. Over the course of a couple weeks Patrick and I decided it would be beneficial to our couples to have a really amazing opportunity to still get married an offer many wedding packages.
Hannah and Mark reached out immediately and asked us to be part of a mini wedding with their closest family that was local.
I was absolutely thrilled to be available and desired to be part of their wedding day. To be totally honest I was super nervous. Not because of our couple but because of restrictions and limitations and things that way I thought may affect my shooting style and interaction with clients. Thankfully Mark and Hannah were incredible and upon my arrival greeted me like old friends.
Laura and Nick were an extremely sweet couple and their family was just as warm and inviting. Although I arrived a bit early for their elopement they wanted to get started right away and even walked down the aisle before the justice of the peace was even in the room! It was awesome. Even though they were eloping, Laura wanted to keep with the tradition of Nick not seeing her until she walked down the aisle so it made sense how they were so eager to do so. Their closest family members were all squeezed into the intimate room, but it was so magical and sweet! In classic elopement style, they were married quickly, but celebrated after for much longer!
We can’t believe it’s New Years Eve. We will be leaving in just a few hours to shoot our last wedding of 2019, in Annapolis on a boat, bringing in the New Year!
In 2019 we shot 42 weddings, 29 engagement sessions, 41 family sessions, 5 maternity sessions, and 8 newborn sessions. I still can’t believe this is our amazing life and we are so grateful and appreciative to all our family, friends, and clients for empowering us to do what we love! I haven’t always done behind the scenes posts just because of time and soaking up the Holidays with family, but I wanted to this year to see that at the end of the day, we are very normal, we love our couples, and we have a lot of fun doing what we love to do.
Happy New Year and Cheers to another amazing year!
In October of this year, we shot Kelsey and Matt’s beautiful Turf Valley Wedding. Kristen is Kelsey’s younger sister, an engaged bridesmaid who was super sweet, peppy and really helpful.
After Kelsey’s wedding, I got an email asking if we were free for a December 2019 wedding and I wasn’t sure if the date was an accident or not. Sure enough, Kristen was planning her wedding in a month and a half! We of course were pumped that we were free and even more pumped to shoot another set of sisters!
This wedding day was such a fun one to photograph. First off, Susan and Jim were a super trusting client. We had only met them a couple times before their wedding and for not doing an engagement session with them, they rocked their newlywed pictures and their bridal party photos amazingly!
We spent the majority of the day at the Maryland Club. This venue is beautiful and this was our first wedding with them… it was a great experience. The historic and richness of the rooms made for beautiful photographs AND the guests had plenty to look at.
This December wedding you’re gonna LOVE! We met Allison and James through one of our past couples… actually a lot of our past couples. There’s this whole group of friends that went to Stevenson together and met because of a slip of paper under a dorm room door. We knew this wedding would be so fun due to the fact that we just got to see these guys in another wedding (LINK TO KORINNA) we shot earlier in the year.
The day was amazing. It could have been REALLY cold and it wasn’t as bad as everyone thought. The fact that first look, all portraits, bridal party and family were outside for photos is amazing. And the backdrop at Thousand Acre Farms is absolutely beautiful.
Let’s just say that RAIN made this day incredible. We knew the day would be a bit of a challenge with the weather, but upon walking in to meet Page and Jason, these two could have cared less about the weather. Page got ready surrounded by friends and Jason surrounded by close friends and his two sons.
