In 2015, my mom’s high school best friend reached out to me asking what our pricing was. She had a daughter getting married and knew we were photographers and wanted us to shoot her daughters wedding. Marybeth and Brads wedding was one of our first weddings as full-time photographers. 4 years later, Ms Cathy emails me again. This time for her son. Of course, “we’d be honored” I told her.
Meet Mo and David. When Monique and David hired us, alongside Ms Cathy, we were so excited. Mainly because we had worked with this family before, knew they were good people, and secretly, I was really excited to see Marybeth and Brad again. The last time we saw them was when we said goodbye at the end of their wedding.
There’s something us private school kids will only because we all went to private school. We’ve got Bryn Mawr, Garrison Forest, Calvert Hall and Mount St Joe represented. How awesome.
Alexa and Zach hired us thanks to the amazing referrals from Ashley + Travis and Abby + Bryn. When we met these two we were like “ummm yah, they are totally our client.” Not because of what they spent or their details or their timeline, but because simply put, they are real, they are sweet, and they know how to have fun.

The day started at Hotel Revival, a really cool Parisian Hotel in Mount Vernon. The collage wall, holy moly, how gorgeous. I was so excited to know that the wedding party was getting ready there, followed by a really sweet first look on the greens of Mt Vernon, with some chill in the air and a slight breeze.
When I walked into the room, Amanda was in the makeup chair, beaming. I was so excited to see our bride, and to know that she was so excited to see us was the best feeling. Seeing us made it feel more real she said, and we gave her a hug and got to work. Her details were beautiful, her dress stunning, and my personal favorite, the reveal with her dad. He gave her a music box, custom sound, a song from her childhood.
Danielle and Shaun got married at the beautiful Catoctin Hall at Musket Ridge Golf Course. It was a beautiful day full of excitement and anticipation. I especially loved their first look, with the golf course set behind them. We ventured across the property to get beautiful photos and found endless locations full of beautiful backdrops. When we photograph here I always feel like it’s a destination, I don’t feel like I’m in Maryland because of the terrain and scenery. These two love to travel and incorporated their love of travelling throughout their wedding. My personal favorite was their favors which were luggage tags… I secretly wanted to steal 2 for Patrick and I but of course resisted considering they were at seats.

When we met Caity and Michael, we had just come from a pumpkin patch with our son Zeke. He was a few months old and we were so appreciative that they would be okay with us bringing him with us. As soon as we met them we knew their wedding would be special.
I had never heard of the Tidewater Inn until I was asked by a friend in the industry to shoot a wedding alongside her. I was so excited because we had just booked Caity and Michael’s wedding and I would get to see it before shooting there for one of our couples. Little did we know that it’s sister venue is one of our favorites, the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club!
Caity and Michael found us through a sibling of our past October couples, Fadi and Stephanie, and their families. They shared with us their story, my favorite being that Michael’s son would play a key role in the wedding day. When the day actually came, this guy was honestly, so sweet. Oh… and can he dance. A few special moments of the day for us was watching him give a gift to Caity and Michael, and also the sand pouring during ceremony representing becoming a family of 3.
This wedding for us was a real example of love through thick and thin. Both Lauren and Alex had lost a parent but our couple made sure they were not forgotten. Lauren wanted a lot of color. Nothing trendy, just beautiful and what she wanted. She had a charm, a photo of her dad wrapped around her bouquet. Alex’s mom had passed away so both our bride and groom have once experienced great loss so this marriage was a symbol of unity, love, and memory.

Today we are sharing another beautiful Springfield Manor wedding with Caty-Betz and Kyle! Caty-Betz is a nursing school friend of our Assistant Sarah so it was a ton of fun to see her as a bridesmaid at this wedding! Caty-Betz and Kyle met in college at Randolph Macon in Virginia. Kyle is from New Jersey and Caty-Betz is from Virginia, but they landed in the middle and recently bought a home on the Eastern Shore in Maryland.
I get this email from this bride that didn’t even hesitate to book us. She said we came highly recommended by one of her bridesmaids. Little did we know that our assistant Sarah and scheming to make sure Caty-Betz and Kyle asked us to be their wedding photographers. Honestly, it was a match made by Sarah… Sarah, you officially match made us haha.
We woke up on Sunday and looked at the weather once more. Rain was a definite. But we had a smile on our face because we know, Ashley and Will were the perfect couple for a rainy day wedding. Upon arriving at the AirBnB where the girls were getting ready, I walked into a house. I heard Laughing coming from the second floor, so I knew, it was going to be an awesome day.
Out of all our rainy day weddings this year, Ashley and Will dominated their day. Their attitudes were incredible. They wanted gorgeous pictures to the point that her expensive shoes were left indoor, umbrellas were grabbed and flipflops on and out the door she went at the venue for her first look, her portraits, and her wedding party pictures.

Megan and Seth hands down get the award for best more improvised and classy first dance, oh and a rocking bubble send off too.
The morning started at the 4 seasons hotel while the guys got dressed at their home in downtown Baltimore. Megan read a love letter from Seth that made her cry and us too without even knowing the contents of the letter.
