Cruising around Solomons island with these guys was a blast! We lucked out with the weather and Megan and Ryan showed me some pretty cool places! Like most our couples, these two started out unsure of the session and dominated. The camera and posing came so easily for these guys and we are so excited for their 2021 wedding!
If there was one couple this year that I had to say was the most daring… it would be these two. The decision was made for an outdoor ceremony fully knowing that the radar was showing rain. Everything was wet and damp, overcast, a little gray, but you would never know from photos. You know why… because we LOVE a good partly cloudy, overcast day. It’s the BEST lighting for head to toe even light, a phrase and method we aim for with every wedding we shoot.
What I thought was so neat about this wedding was that this was a destination wedding for these two. No one in their families are from Maryland or even live in Maryland. In fact, most of the bridal party and family flew in or drove in for this wedding. We didn’t realize that until half way through speeches when we figured out that no one was from the area. These two were supposed to get married on the 4th of July but due to COVID decided to postpone the wedding. We were so excited to be alongside these guys along with our film team so we were pretty thrilled to go into this day ready and excited. Something else special about this wedding for us is that Kari, the wedding planner, is one of our past brides! SO that was really cool to be able to work alongside her. She knows how we roll and together we were able to help the day roll seamlessly and beautifully!
Patrick wins this wedding for sure. He not only creeped our couple out at a bridal show, but every wedding one of us wins best segments. And he won. Let me explain. Nate and Patrick played ball together and against each other years and years ago. Fast forward, out of touch.
Then one day at a bridal show, Patrick says to me “I know that guy.” Now Christine would 100% say because she did tell us this, that she looks over and sees this guy staring at Nate. She said she was a little freaked out at first but then when Christine and Nate came over, the stars aligned and basically some great friendship were sparked!
Oh man, this day! Emily and Kevin were going to get married regardless of the pandemic. They were determined. Of all our couples this year, these two had the BEST day! Emily and Kevin are some of the most genuine and sweetest couples we’ve had to date. Not that we don’t have the best couples on the planet but these two aren’t just sweet, they are nice, kind, so easy going, which if you can imagine, allowed us to maximize their day, their photo time, and they were ready for an adventure. We should have known this when it rained during their engagement session and it didn’t phase them at all. They just stayed positive all day!
Aww, Lisa and Kevin! Congrats you both. We met Lisa and Kevin the day of a wedding we had at Gramercy Mansion actually. They were scoping venues and we encouraged them to check out a few that we loved. They ended up going with BMI and then asked us to be their wedding photographers for their October 4th wedding. Then Covid hit MD and these two decided to postpone their big BMI wedding but still get married at BMI on their original wedding date. Patrick and I were so pumped to be there with them.
Yah! Congrats, you’re married! Caroline and Andrew were originally scheduled for a 2020 big wedding at the Pendry but decided to postpone their big day and still get married in 2020. They both got ready with family only at the Pendry and then headed to a Baltimore church where family and a small group of friends met them for a sweet ceremony. We were so excited to be able to be alongside them, even though their plans had changed and the day would look very different than originally planned. Caroline and Andrew, thank you for trusting us in the midst of crazy times and for still getting married and having us there to document it! We are so excited to be alongside you guys next year for part 2! It’s going to be awesome!
Yah!! Screw COVID! Stephanie and Nate were going to get married, COVID or not. These cuties were supposed to get married at M&T Bank Ravens stadium with an awesome reception but made the decision to do an intimate ceremony at the Pendry Hotel in Fells Point when they found out that their venue was not yet open for weddings. We were excited to be able to be part of their day and document it, but also because we hadn’t shot a wedding there yet!
Marina and Christian have the cutest proposal story! He surprised her with a photo session that turned into a engagement while they were traveling in France! How sweet! It was so great to be with them for their wedding day. Their plan was to marry in the same chapel that her parent’s were married in years ago. And while due to COVID, that wasn’t possible, they still let us sneak in for some photos! After a beautiful Catholic ceremony in Marina’s family’s home church, we traveled to the water to Celebrations at the Bay to party on the water. More surprises in store as Marina and Christian did a swing dance for their first dance! So cute! It was a beautiful day and the weather was great. Thank you for sharing your special day with us!
Kim and Andrew’s wedding was our first one after the initial COVID-19 shutdowns! They both did an amazing job planning through such a rapidly-evolving time. I know it was stressful, but boy was it worth it! Their ceremony and reception ended up the beautiful Stone Manor Country Club – now featuring a stunning new ballroom that they just finished last year! Kim and Andrew celebrated in such a special way, by reciting their personal vows during their private first look.
Megan and Justin became one of our amazing 2021 couples at the beginning of of Quarantine… like days in! We met them at the Turf Valley Bridal Show (one of our fav shows to do) and were so pumped to have them as one of ours!
When thinking about their engagement session, they told us that Cove Point Beach on Solomons Island was really special to them. It was a no brainer to do their session and drive the 1.5 hours to and from to get incredible memories and photos for these two. We met them at a family beach house in the cutest little neighborhood and literally ventured throughout the island. They were set on beach photos so not only did we get those for them but we also got them even more variety utilizing a pier, dunes, fence lines and of course an amazing lighthouse that was special to their grand mother. Even the beach umbrella you’ll see in the photos belonged to Justin’s grandfather with memories attached!
