Yah! This is such a fun session for us to post! Amol and Maria are one of our destination weddings next year! We are headed to Philly in 2023 for their wedding at the W and we are sooo pumped! They decided it only made sense to do a Philly based engagement session. They had a few locations in mind but they totally trusted us to cruise all around the city to get them some awesome variety. We ventured to their home, around the area, ended up at the famous Rocky stairs, around the museum and it’s surrounding gardens and wrapped up on the streets near their home. What I loved is that these guys were the first couple that we shared we were expecting in 2023 at dinner eating Tacos at one of their fav restaurants… which was so fitting since its one of my prego cravings! Baby Taco was announced to these lovebirds first and they were so excited for us. Amol and Maria… what a session you had. You trusted us, cruised around the city with us and we are so thankful for clients like you that empower us to do what we do best and what we love. So thank you! We can’t wait to party with you in 2023… it’s going to be amazing! xo
Yah! This session is so fun for so many reasons! First off, Caitlin and David are sweet, genuine and just a lot of fun. Super trusting of us on the muggiest session we’ve had all year. That didn’t stop them from kissing, laughing and hiking through McKeldin State Park with us! The first part of the session, their sweet pup Blue, a gorgeous Bernese Mountain Dog joined us for some pics. After that, we headed to the waterfall where we did some twirls and some intimate segments. Then we searched and chased light throughout the woods and fields. We finished their session with Korbel champagne popping as deer watched on. Oh and we can’t forget the giant sushi boat we all shared in Old Ellicott City for dinner! C+D, we are so pumped for what’s to come! We hope you love your photos and you’re excited for what’s to come!
Up on the blog today is Josh and Johnnas beautiful October Turf Valley Wedding! We are so excited to share this wedding for sooo many reasons! First off, Johnna’s family, parents and aunts and uncles are owners of Turf Valley. I jokingly say they all own Howard County… and they are some of the most incredible people. But beyond that, Johnna’s sister Nicole is one of my best friends in the industry and I’m so thankful for her friendship. When Nicole shared with me that her sister was engaged, I was sooo excited! I secretly hoped they would hire us, so when Josh and Johnna reached out, I was ecstatic! I love their families more than they know. A funny story before we dive in… back in 2014 when we went full-time as wedding photographers Turf Valley was on my bucket list of venues. I remember thinking… man, the day we photograph a wedding at Turf Valley, I will feel like I hit the lottery. The relationship we’ve cultivated in the last 10 years has brought great friendships, even with their catering staff and managers I feel like we can really create magic there and have the trust of the staff.
This session is so much fun for us to share! Erin and Andrew are one of our 2023 couples and currently live in Dallas Texas. When we met with them on zoom, we knew they would be a great match for us. We proposed the idea of coming to them and we were so excited that they opted to have us! We flew out on a Sunday just to be sure we would get there and got our rental car and checked into our Airbnb. We had a double header wedding weekend flying out so we were thankful for the travel day. Monday was so fun! We met up with Erin and Andrew at the first of 3 locations. Arlington Hall Park was beautiful and there was a lot of green spaces for us to shoot! We left and headed with them to Griggs Park, a really cool sports complex park where the hill over looks downtown Dallas… a spot where Andrew proposed to Erin! Pretty epic and awesome. We flew the drone a bunch and got some sick shots for them! We wrapped up outside the city on a trail that over looks the city but miles away. What a skyline. Sunset didn’t disappoint and the options we found around there were amazing! Erin and Andrew, we had sooo much fun! Dinner at Katy Trail was sooo good too and we are so excited for your wedding next year! Thanks for choosing us and trusting us!
Gahhh!! If I had a favorite session of the year it would be this one, and I can say that biased because Melissa is not just one of my 2023 brides but because she is my right hand, my amazing associate photographer, and she keeps our editing queue on point and running. She’s basically my best friend. I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am for her and Chandler. And a crazy cool fact… Patrick and I photographed Chandler’s mom wedding in 2015!
Ooooo this session is so so fun! First off, Ashley and Tim are one of our 2023 destination wedding clients… BOSTON! Yah yah! We are so excited to be alongside them next year.
Ashley was a bridesmaid in a wedding we shot last June and we are soo pumped that they want us to be alongside them. They flew in from Boston and met up with us at Longwood Gardens, this incredible park of sorts that is massive with gorgeous water fountains, stunning tree lines, and an area I call Versailles mainly because it’s just romantic and dreamy. These two did awesome and we are so pumped that they trusted us to take them on a great adventure all over the park! Can’t wait for your wedding, we are going to have the BEST DAY EVER!
Straight out of college I move back to Baltimore to start a job as a kindergarten teachers assistant. Many of you don’t know that I taught elementary education at the McDonogh school prior to moving into the marketing world, even before we were wedding photographers. My first year as a teachers assistant was with the beautiful Tammy R. How this ties into this wedding is that Tammy is the mother of my bride MJ.
About six years ago I did a reunion shoot for the race family and got to meet a handful of aunts uncles and cousins. Little did I know that we would be full-time wedding photographer shooting MJ’s wedding in the years to come. When they asked me to shoot their wedding Patrick and I were so honored and excited. Of course we said yes and would be happy to go wherever they wanted to tie the knot.
MJ and Keith decided to have their wedding in Luray Virginia at the beautiful Brenwood Lake venue.
Patrick and I drove down the night before to ensure we were able to see the venue prior to wedding day. We knew we were in for a beautiful ceremony in their outdoor space alongside the venue which felt like a rustic barn but updated for a great party.
We had always heard skyline Drive was incredible and beautiful. It wasn’t one of those destinations that we were ready to undergo with two little kids Intel. But when Chelsea and Josh hired us for their 2022 wedding they made it known at their consult that they had every intention to do their engagement pictures there. Patrick and I were so excited to have the opportunity to drive down there and do a session there. And let me tell you the view did not disappoint. Chelsea and Josh did awesome at their session. We met them mid day to basically cruise a 30 mile stretch of the Shannondoah Valley to find epic views and capture what was in their mind and heart for engagement pictures. We hopped in the same car and drove and spent basically 3 1/2 almost 4 hours together.
EkkK! I’m soooo excited to share this session with you. First off, I LOVE when things just align when you least expect it. Patrick and I flew to Mexico back in January for a friends wedding that we were photographing. On the first day, we got to the resort, grabbed some food, and then were trying to figure out where everything was. So we found ourselves looking at a map, at the same time as another couple. Austin and Courtney were standing there too, I’m pretty sure we asked them a question and they couldn’t answer it either because they had just arrived as well. We talked a little bit, shared a little about ourselves and said “see ya later!”
Little did we know we would run into them a few more times. Once we saw them again I whispered to Patrick, “babe, we should see if they want some photos!” We of course were pumped about the idea of photographing these cuties… probably because we knew they would be so fun and up for a great adventure. Let’s just say, adventure was definitely part of it. We definitely got introuble and yelled at twice off property… our bad. Then we cruised around, tried some new verbal cues like “run and jump off that sand dune towards us” and our favorite… “sit down in the water and see what happens.”
Cruising around Solomons island with these guys was a blast! We lucked out with the weather and Megan and Ryan showed me some pretty cool places! Like most our couples, these two started out unsure of the session and dominated. The camera and posing came so easily for these guys and we are so excited for their 2021 wedding!
