Bridget and Jake had a great Fells Point sunrise engagement session. They battled through a really cold session! We took a break and got coffee and hot chocolate right before an outfit change! Getting to know these guys and watching them be sweet and giggle while all our of hands were soo cold… it was just the best. We are pretty excited to be shooting their 2020 wedding later this year!
We are excited to share this engagement session 1) because it’s beautiful and 2) because it’s a shout out to one of our amazing couples who have had to reschedule their wedding because of the pandemic. Last weekend these two would have been married and had the most killer party of all time on Gibson Island. We were SOO pumped to shoot their wedding and honestly, now that we have to wait a whole year, it’s only going to build the excitement and anticipation of their day. Sharing this today hopefully will give you an awesome perspective on these two… they are fun, sweet, loyal, and totally in love. Most of the time we meet couples face to face for the first time in our home. We literally met these guys in the kitchen at Kevin’s parents home after meeting his mom first. Talk about giving a good impression… I’m always so much better in my own zone at first, but the hospitality, sweetness, and kindness of Kevin’s parents set us at ease and soon after meeting our couple, we were like… this is gonna be awesome.
Our first engagement of the 2020 year has happened and we are sooo glad it was Shannon and Rob! I jokingly said, “we’re a little rusty” because it had been 3 days since our last wedding of 2019. We all laughed.
Shannon and Rob are the cutest! They really didn’t have a set location they wanted to shoot at so we proposed a few ideas and we ended up heading into Baltimore the first week of January into Harbor East to rock their session all around the Inner Harbor. We cruised and covered so much land in a short amount of time. Shannon’s outfit was soo cute (LOVED the black dress) and the weather was supposed to rain so the overcast skies allowed for some beautiful backdrops and lighting.
Shannon and Rob, you guys crushed it… AND even though you tota
In October of this year, we shot Kelsey and Matt’s beautiful Turf Valley Wedding. Kristen is Kelsey’s younger sister, an engaged bridesmaid who was super sweet, peppy and really helpful.
After Kelsey’s wedding, I got an email asking if we were free for a December 2019 wedding and I wasn’t sure if the date was an accident or not. Sure enough, Kristen was planning her wedding in a month and a half! We of course were pumped that we were free and even more pumped to shoot another set of sisters!
This wedding day was such a fun one to photograph. First off, Susan and Jim were a super trusting client. We had only met them a couple times before their wedding and for not doing an engagement session with them, they rocked their newlywed pictures and their bridal party photos amazingly!
We spent the majority of the day at the Maryland Club. This venue is beautiful and this was our first wedding with them… it was a great experience. The historic and richness of the rooms made for beautiful photographs AND the guests had plenty to look at.
Mandy and Chris just moved back from Annapolis to Baltimore! Welcome home! We did a cute homecoming engagement session downtown Baltimore and got some of my new favorite shots! We went to Locust Point, Fort McHenry, Under Armour, the American Visionary Art Museum, and Fed Hill! Take a note from these two and be flexible and you’ll end up with gorgeous photos!
A black bridal jacket, gorgeous flowers, and a rockin’ band, this wedding was so so good. Marisa and Kris had such a cool wedding. We were really excited to photograph at the Winslow, a newer wedding venue in Baltimore City. Earlier this year, we drove up to Long Island New York for their engagement session. It included a classic club car and lots of laughter and adventure! We couldn’t believe how fast their wedding came up on us. We felt like we had just driven to New York when we shot their wedding.
I always tell people “Anyone can go to the top of Federal Hill, it’s free!” But here’s the thing… when it’s your home or your backyard, heck ya, you shoot there!
Krissy and DJ found us online, maybe google, maybe IG, but there’s one thing that’s for sure, when we met these guys, there was no denying this would be such a great match. When we meet with couples we try really hard not to make it like an interview, because it’s awkward for all of us… just like the start of all our engagement sessions.
Every wedding has moments for me that say engrained in my head. The things that stick out the most for me for their wedding include a really amazing mother father and daughter reveal as well as Carly’s first dance with her dad as a married woman. Although Josh is a reserved groom he is so kind and so sweet. One of my favorite segments of the day was photographing Carlee and Josh with Patrick out in the field at sunset. Sunset was creeping up in the sky opened up for them with gorgeous colors. We are thankful that Josh and Carlee trusted us to steal them from reception to take them out into the middle of the field. They told us they wouldn’t have it any other way and all they cared about was gorgeous photos and time together. What a combo. The whole day was fun. The girls drove over in an RV motorhome that belongs to her Uncle. It was so cold and Carlee was so accommodating… We were outside so much of the day because the weather was beautiful, just chilly. As I tell all of our couples cold is still great weather. What I loved most about Carlee’s day is how much she trusted us to document a day full of moments and of people and family.
A couple weeks ago, we got to photograph a really cute engagement session, at sunrise in Fells Point. You know, we are NOT morning people at all, but there’s something about the lighting and the quiet streets in Fells Point that doesn’t make it so bad. We met Katie and Greg right as the sun was coming up, but since it was overcast, we didn’t get any killer skies. We did however get THE BEST lighting for our couple though and could shoot in any direction we wanted because the sun wouldn’t be harsh at all.
