We are excited to share this engagement session 1) because it’s beautiful and 2) because it’s a shout out to one of our amazing couples who have had to reschedule their wedding because of the pandemic. Last weekend these two would have been married and had the most killer party of all time on Gibson Island. We were SOO pumped to shoot their wedding and honestly, now that we have to wait a whole year, it’s only going to build the excitement and anticipation of their day. Sharing this today hopefully will give you an awesome perspective on these two… they are fun, sweet, loyal, and totally in love. Most of the time we meet couples face to face for the first time in our home. We literally met these guys in the kitchen at Kevin’s parents home after meeting his mom first. Talk about giving a good impression… I’m always so much better in my own zone at first, but the hospitality, sweetness, and kindness of Kevin’s parents set us at ease and soon after meeting our couple, we were like… this is gonna be awesome.
It’s been two years since we’ve seen these guys… dang time flies. We first met these guys at a wedding (though I don’t remember whose) and then they hired us to do their Fells Point engagement session! They got married in New York and unfortunately we were already booked for their date, otherwise we probably would have shot another New York wedding!
But two years laters, Lauren reached out asking if we did in-home sessions. In excitement I replied and said “NO! But I’ve always wanted to shoot one!” So we scheduled this session and early this week got to photograph these love birds once more, but as husband and wife in their home. They wanted me to capture them in this space, before they sell their home and move. Of course we had to include JoJo their sweet dog, who of course remembered me (NOT!) but still was welcoming of me into their home.
This may be a sappy post but you better keep reading. Heather and Tyler are one of our 2016 couples. They got married on a beautiful September day. Within a year of being married, Tyler got diagnosed with cancer. He beat it once and we celebrated alongside them.
Earlier this year it came back, in another part of his body. We stood alongside these two, prayed with them, spoke life over them, and declared healing, joy, and believed for the miraculous once again in their lives.
Guys… yesterday, Heather and Tyler got the news from his doctor that the PET scan came back, and he is in complete remission! Thank you Jesus! I cried in the bathroom yesterday morning when Tyler text us on our group chat.
