It’s pretty amazing how the referrals of people bring us such incredible people. In 2017 we shot a wedding for a couple named Amanda and Rob. For those that don’t know we got cheated out of half of their wedding photos when digital files went missing. We came to find out that Dropbox lost photos that we would never get back. After a full refund and thousands of dollars in data recovery, we learned the lesson that nothing is ever truly safe in a tech world.
The grace Amanda and Rob and their families extend it to us was unparalleled to the point that we will by January 2022 will have shot all three sisters’ weddings. Amanda and Rob continue to refer friends of theirs to us which is how Sierra and Dan found us. Of their friends, we shot a wedding for Korinna and Dustin as well as Allison and James which led us to Sierra and Dan. Holy moly.
Let me tell you about these two. Sierra and Dan are some of the most fun and sweet people I’ve come to know. Sierra is genuine and trusting. Dan is quiet, fun, and super intentional. Being alongside these two during their wedding day was so fun.
The day started with bridal party getting ready at a hotel not too far from the wedding venue. If you’ve never been to the Historic Londontown Gardens, what an incredible and beautiful venue. Yes it’s historic but it offers lots of variety from up here views of water, wooded lots, historic buildings, all allowing for a variety of backdrops. There was never a shortage of places to take photos.
Dan and Sierra had a really sweet first look out underneath a giant oak tree. Sierra gifted him his wedding band that had engraving on the inside. We were lucky enough to get incredible weather that wasn’t super hot allowing us to be outside doing all photos prior to ceremony. As you walked around the venue they were lots of really sweet details Inc. The signature drinks were inspired by their two fur babies. As guests arrived they could grab streamers that they would shake at the end of the ceremony. Custom cornhole boards sat at cocktail hour where guests could play some lawn games.
The ceremony was efficient and sweet and family and friends cheered as they would become husband-and-wife. The rest of the day was full of fun and wild moments. The dance floor always had guest dancing. I especially loved the father of the groom’s speech in which he included a self-made costume from the Princess Bride and proceeded to use the famous stanza of tez beginning with “Mawwiage…”. Everyone was either laughing or recording it as family memories knew it was coming. These two shared a lot of fun memories together with their friends and family.
The night ended with a final dance with just a couple by themselves in their reception space. As they exited guests blew bubbles in the dark which I especially love because of how they photograph. Sierra and Dan, congrats on your wedding. We are so excited for you both and what the future holds!
