Bridal Shows are one of those things that we LOVE to do from a marketing standpoint and relationship standpoint. The ability to meet a lot of people in a short period of time is thrilling but also allows us to meet some pretty amazing people. Nikki and Pat were a couple we met through the Bohemia River Overlook show. I actually forgot how tall they are, but something that we remember talking to them about what how height and weight plays a part in photography and posing people based off physical dynamic and those factors matters.
Nikki and Pat also ended up being the winner of our engagement session giveaway so when they chose us to be their wedding photographers too, we were thrilled! These guys met through the University of Delaware but actually met in another state thanks to Volleyball. Pat is a surfer and volleyball guy, and Nikki is a physical therapist for athletes. They wanted to do their session at their Alma Mater, so we drove up and met them and cruised campus. We did over 15k steps and got such cool variety… the university has so much photo “treasure” as we call it, places to take photos, spots and the lighting was awesome. My favorite location… the kissing arches. Supposedly it’s like divine intervention, that if you kiss under the arches, you’re destined to that person for life! Now that I think about it… I should have kissed Patrick while we were there!
We ended our time with these guys at dinner Iron Hill Brewery, a local restaurant. We got to dinner just in time before closing and then we spent another good 30-45 minutes after dinner sitting in the bed of Pat’s truck talking all about wedding planning, next steps, and just got to know each other even more. Our 2 hour session turned into a 4-5 hour event! As we’ve always said… when engagement sessions go for HOURS… we know it’s gonna be a great wedding day! You guys did awesome, we can’t wait to see you and 100% are replicating the iphone photo of drinking beer through a straw on wedding day lol.
You guys did awesome! Here are some fun behind the scenes. After this session, we realized Maggie did almost 15K steps at 37 weeks pregnant… aww yah!
