Your day started out amazing with incredible friends alongside you, 3 amazing men of honor, a tribe of babes next to them, and a group of men that loved to dance alongside Brent. Everything about your wedding was totally you and Brent. From a cookie cake with ballet slipper and Sneaker (you two and your shoes…. Well mainly Brent). Your dance team coming to support you, your dad giving one of the best speeches we’ve heard (made me cry) and watching you beam through sun and shade, was probably my most favorite. Oh an when you told me you were getting hot and my reply was “Ok, Great.” Jenn you know me so well. I wanted your photos to be incredible. I’m partial to you Jenn, I love you so much, I’m so happy for you and Brent, and can’t wait to see you guys again. Please come play and hang out and just be. Like you said in your text message and letter to me… our babies will play together as we laugh and enjoy the days to come.
We’ve known Kelly’s family for what seems like forever. Honestly, the fact that I have photographed weddings for friends that I’ve grown up with is pretty amazing. I’m actually honored and it’s sooo special.
When Kelly reached out to us about shooting her wedding, I was so excited. When we met Mike and did their engagement session, I knew their wedding would be so sweet and fun. Fun was an understatement.
When we arrived at the bridge, I see this cowboy. Plaid shirt and a beaver pelt hat. I knew it was our groom. Kaitlin and Justin are so sweet and so special to us. They love the outdoors, they are totally country, and they aren’t ashamed of it at all. In fact, our groom is a legit rodeo guy, and he loves trucks.
These two had such a killer session.. Wait until you see the sunset and the skies that opened up for these two. Talk about adventure. We all really didn’t know where our session would take us. Kaitlin had reached out to a few places for engagement session locations and just didn’t have any luck. So we decided to propose adventure and they said yes. We met them at the Union Road Red Covered Bridge in Frederick and stayed local. We went to a park close by and literally drove around and found beautiful spots.
It’s always special for us when we get to photograph weddings of sisters and siblings. We met Melissa when we photographed her sisters wedding in 2017. The family is incredible and honestly one of our favorites in the history of our career. Their sweetness, their grace, and their kindness is literally unfathomable.
When I met Tracey and Jason at a bridal show about a month ago, I knew there was something different about them. It turned out that they hired us, not just because of our photo skills but because we all have a similar passion and heart beat: Jesus.
These lovebirds are one of our non-millenials. Like us they are over 30 and madly in love. Tracey shared with me that she had been praying for her husband after years of waiting. I totally understood her in this because I too had prayed for years for my husband, Patrick. Kindred hearts, we both wrote letters in a journal for our future husbands, and what I think is so cool, is that she will gift that journal to him on her wedding day. I did the same thing.
Caitlin and Joe had such a beautiful wedding. Everyone was concerned about the rain they were calling for and the timing could not have been better. Caitlin and Joe lucked out… the rain literally came at the end of their outdoor ceremony at Glen Allen Farm. In our minds, it was an incredible day, the kind we pray and wish for. Overcast skies all day for even soft lighting for photos and then at the end of the night, Umbrella Night shots under a sky of rain.
The best part of this job is shooting special moments for friends and family, and shooting for special people that become friends and family. The longevity of this job is great! The families grow and you get to do maternity shoots, newborn pictures, family sessions, etc. In this case, this proposal was a special moment for an already great friend. Jon, aka “Munch”, was one of Sarah’s best friends in college, but it had been six years since they had seen each other! What a fun treat to get to document this super sweet moment for them!
Where do we even start with this wedding and this couple. Our relationship with Rosalie and Jon started early, and when we say early, we mean when we all got up at sunrise for a beautiful sunrise DC session. We had a blast together and knew that when wedding day came, it would be not just fun, but really just a great day.
