We cannot even imagine or will we pretend to know what it’s like to reschedule a wedding. But what I can tell you is that the grace and flexibility of our couples is immeasurable. Clare and Zach are one of our 2020 couples that had to reschedule their wedding to next year but in the midst of Covid decided to still get married!
I can basically say that this was officially our third wedding of 2020. It’s amazing to me how many weddings have had to reschedule due to government restrictions and the pandemic.
Hannah and Mart were supposed to be one of our June weddings and unfortunately had to reschedule for 2021. Over the course of a couple weeks Patrick and I decided it would be beneficial to our couples to have a really amazing opportunity to still get married an offer many wedding packages.
Hannah and Mark reached out immediately and asked us to be part of a mini wedding with their closest family that was local.
I was absolutely thrilled to be available and desired to be part of their wedding day. To be totally honest I was super nervous. Not because of our couple but because of restrictions and limitations and things that way I thought may affect my shooting style and interaction with clients. Thankfully Mark and Hannah were incredible and upon my arrival greeted me like old friends.
Caleb and Creason had a really awesome session up in Havre De Grace! We rarely photograph in that part of town and it’s quite a treat when we do! The variety of locations that downtown Havre de Grace has to offer is amazing. From piers, to rocks and water, to woodsy areas and street and park, we find that the final gallery for our couples gives them so many options.
I am so excited to share this session with you! Sara and Joey are one of the couples that we had to reschedule three maybe even four times for their engagement session due to Covid. When we finally got a date on calendar fully knowing we were able to shoot, we were so excited! Clearly there’s a lot of excitement on our end being able to shoot at all thanks to restrictions being lifted.
Sara and Joey did awesome during our time with them. We met up at Baker Park in Frederick to find that the park was vibrant, full of lots of people (haha) and beautiful weather. Thankfully not so packed that we could not shoot around people however Sara and Joey were so patient with us as we cruise to the park to find locations and new places to shoot.
Excited to share our first engagement session of Quarantine 2020!
Back in March, we wrapped up a Fells Point Engagement session for one of our couples days before heading out on a week long cruise. We needed a break, we needed time off before a crazy wedding season would be upon us. Little did we know it would be our last one in Baltimore for 2 months. Within hours of getting back into the nation, we would be one of the last boats to go to sea. We also didn’t know that 60 some days would pass between that Fells Point session, and this session. Say hello to engagement sessions during Quarantine.
To give you background, Kayleigh and Clark booked us at the very beginning the pandemic in Maryland for their 2021 wedding and they are amazing. They are also historic for us. They are the first engagement session we’ve had in the middle of a pandemic. They had to wait until we got approval from the city, and then they saw us in a very “nervous” state, something that most our couples don’t see. We love the chaos of wedding days, the uncertainty of wedding logistics even the planned ones, but throw government regulations into the mix, yikes. We wanted to law abide but we knew we were allowed to work too… ghost streets, and little traffic was just not normal so we felt free too to be creative and give these guys some shots we normally would not have gotten.
So Jordan and Brett are a couple we also met on our cruise to the Western Caribbean! They are friends with the engaged couple, Kristen and Josh, you can see their pics here. When Kristen and Josh agreed to doing photos, we ended up asking Jordan and Brett if they wanted some too. They said sure and came along for the session to get some cute dating pics of their own! They were awesome in front of the lens and totally trusted us as we guided them through a lot of poses in a short amount of time. Jordan and Brett, thanks so much for venturing through Cozumel with us. We are pumped for your adventures to come!
Every time we take a trip, we try to meet or find a cute couple that would be willing to allow us to take photos of them for portfolio in exchange for giving them amazing photos to remember! We met Kristen and Josh on the spa tour the very first day of our cruise, actually we were still at port and walking through the ship to get to know the layout, what it had to offer and see if there were any specials going on. We talked just for a bit, found out they were engaged after talking about being wedding photographers and the stresses of our bodies to the spa lady haha. Anyway, we ran into them again a couple more times and decided to ask them if they were up for it sometime during the 7 days of being on the ship together. We ended up doing an excursion with them too which was really awesome. Sure enough, they said yes doing the session and we proposed Cozumel.
Baltimore is such a small place yet so big. Steph and Nate found us because Patrick saw that Nate had gotten engaged via Facebook and if I’m correct, Nate was looking for wedding vendors and Patrick reached out. Nate and Patrick went to Calvert Hall together and hadn’t seen each other in years. We met his gorgeous fiance Stephanie at our house for a consult and obviously talked about engagement session and they mentioned that they wanted to do some in Florida. We didn’t think that it was going to be an option because of timing but then Patrick had this awesome idea. At our consult, we told them we would be going on a cruise. Patrick asked, “well when will you be there next.” We all were in disbelief when we discovered that we all would be in Florida at the same time so we worked out the logistics and made it happen.
Laura and Nick were an extremely sweet couple and their family was just as warm and inviting. Although I arrived a bit early for their elopement they wanted to get started right away and even walked down the aisle before the justice of the peace was even in the room! It was awesome. Even though they were eloping, Laura wanted to keep with the tradition of Nick not seeing her until she walked down the aisle so it made sense how they were so eager to do so. Their closest family members were all squeezed into the intimate room, but it was so magical and sweet! In classic elopement style, they were married quickly, but celebrated after for much longer!
I’m so excited to share this session today! This was our last Baltimore engagement session before all this craziness happened with COVID and stay at home orders. It was days before we left for our cruise and I actually think like the day or 2 before these cuties drove south to Florida to move into their new home!
