Katie wanted something fun, I wanted something fun AND intimate, so we did both and the results are fantastic. This was our first session like this and it was a doozy. We learned a lot haha. Running in the water in a wedding dress is almost impossible, and holding $8k in gear up in the air in the ocean, nerve racking. But honestly, adventure is in ALL of our blood so it was only fitting for the 4 of us to parade around in the ocean decked out in wedding apparel and our gear! They were so sweet, kissed thousands of times and got to basically make out in the ocean. I mean, who doesn’t want that the day after your wedding!? Enjoy this post and all its glory!
This wedding for me is beyond special to share with you. Katie and I have been friends for over 10 years! She was in my wedding 7 years ago and is a treasure and a gem. She’s one of those friends that no matter what happens in life, how many months (or years for that matter) go by, that when you get on the phone, you laugh just as hard as you did when you saw each other day to day.
When Katie not just told me she was engaged, invited us to her wedding, asked us to shoot it AND that it was going to be in Mexico, Patrick and I didn’t hesitate. Yes, Mexico is amazing, but guys, this was our first legit destination wedding outside the US so it was a pretty big deal for us. It was a bucket list item to be totally honest and we are so happy that we got to be alongside them. I jokingly told Katie that if she had a wedding party, I would have been in it. So I made us shirts to wear prior to the wedding and enjoyed every minute being able to be there, support her, help work out logistics, etc.
Yah! Our third “wedding” of 2021! The reason we have “wedding” in quotations was because we didn’t actually photograph the ceremony, just the first look and their newlywed photos! Ariel and Josh were surprised by their friends who gifted us to them for their wedding day! Due to numbers at their wedding, they decided that they wanted us to photograph their first look and newlywed photos at their alma mater, The University of Maryland. We were so excited to be with Ariel and Josh for a couple hours. It was SOO cold, but these guys did amazing and didn’t complain once!
EkkK! I’m soooo excited to share this session with you. First off, I LOVE when things just align when you least expect it. Patrick and I flew to Mexico back in January for a friends wedding that we were photographing. On the first day, we got to the resort, grabbed some food, and then were trying to figure out where everything was. So we found ourselves looking at a map, at the same time as another couple. Austin and Courtney were standing there too, I’m pretty sure we asked them a question and they couldn’t answer it either because they had just arrived as well. We talked a little bit, shared a little about ourselves and said “see ya later!”
Little did we know we would run into them a few more times. Once we saw them again I whispered to Patrick, “babe, we should see if they want some photos!” We of course were pumped about the idea of photographing these cuties… probably because we knew they would be so fun and up for a great adventure. Let’s just say, adventure was definitely part of it. We definitely got introuble and yelled at twice off property… our bad. Then we cruised around, tried some new verbal cues like “run and jump off that sand dune towards us” and our favorite… “sit down in the water and see what happens.”
Happy new year! This wedding was so eventful and exciting as it was our first wedding of 2021. While it may have been a small wedding with only 20 people it was a full wedding day for us. Our team as long with our cinema team spent over 10 hours with Kayleigh and Clark and their families. We were so excited to work alongside Social Graces Events planning team for the first time and their work did not disappoint. With a beautiful design aesthetic in place Kayleigh and Clark definitely had a winter wonderland. I think one of my favorite parts of this wedding was the fact that they closed out and ended their wedding with the last song being all I want for Christmas is you. Everyone was rocking out on the floor, parents, siblings and the bridal party that was in attendance. With the dusty blue beautiful color palette the details were gorgeous. The ceremony install was one of my favorites to date as well. Kayleigh and Clark, you guys were our first 2021 couple and we are so glad you were. If you remember, you were also the first engagement session we shot after months of being shutdown. We shot their engagement session only about a week or a couple days after the restriction was lifted and the streets of Fells Point were very empty. We were so pumped these guys still got married on their original wedding date despite all the unknowns of the pandemic. Kayleigh and Clark we are so excited for you guys in your future. We hope that this year is full of life, joy, and success!
This proposal is one for history. Scott and Patrick have known each other for so so many years. They played ball together. I had the honor of meeting Scott years ago and was so excited to have him in our wedding. Soon after we would meet Aaron. What a babe and sweetheart. When Scott reached out to Patrick about her photographing the proposal I was so bummed because I would not be able to be there. I had another issue that I had to fulfill them and as a result could not witness this amazing event. Scott and Aaron have been dating for a few years and we couldn’t be more excited for them.
We met Candice and Nick at a bridal expo at Rosewood Farms in late 2019 right before anyone knew a pandemic was headed this way. Candice and Nick are a genuine, sweet, and just down to earth couple that we could easily find ourselves staying friends with for years to come. Candice and Nick postponed their June 2020 wedding to December 2020 and decided to have their wedding regardless of people count. They knew they just wanted to be married, have family and friends present, and they did.
This December wedding was so fun and so memorable. To start, we had never met the couple in person prior to the wedding, which we thought was so crazy. I think because I had talked to Rachel so many times over the phone and via email, when we met in person that morning, it just felt so normal and so right and so fun. The whole day was a day full of surprises and anticipation. There were details woven in that were subtle but intentional. A rosary around Rachel’s bouquet that her mom identified as her grandfathers the morning of. Plaid pashminas that made this day feel wintery and like Christmas was upon us. Their reception venue was their families home and a backyard of memories turned to wedding ones.
Ekkk! This proposal is so exciting. We met Steve and Megan through one of our 2016 couples and now dear friends Heather and Tyler! When Steve reached out via IG, we were like yes! We were so excited to witness and capture this proposal because we knew or rather had an inkling that we may shot this wedding too! Patrick shot the proposal and had a beautiful experience watching Megan say yes! Weeks later they would ask us to be their wedding photographers and we can’t wait!!! Congrats Steve and Megan!! Enjoy this season ENGAGED!!
We met Heidi and nick at a 2018 wedding and we remember how excited Heidi was about photography, modeling and weddings. Little did we know that years later, nick would reach out about hiring us for their proposal! We of course said yes and we’re soo excited about it. Patrick and I couldn’t get childcare which worked in our favor as I was able to use the kids as a distraction… would she remember me and our kids? Patrick was hiding and I was hunkered down eating chicken nuggets with zeke on the fells pier with a camera hidden in the stroller! Watching nick propose to Heidi was so awesome, she was sooo surprised, and couldn’t believe we were there! Congrats to you both, we are so excited for the future for you guys!
