This Sunday wedding in December felt like a Spring wedding with overcast skies and warmer clients. We couldn’t believe that with a 48 hour window, one day felt like winter freezes and the next day was a spring day. We met these cuties through James’ family as we photographed his sisters wedding 2.5 years ago.
James and Jessica had a really special day as the majority of the day was spent at their new home in Silver Spring. Together they bought 10 acres, an old horse farm, and all of their portraits from their first look, to their wedding party, to their family portraits were in and outside their home.
They wanted a winter feel to their photos, so we wove in furs, luxury details and home decor that would capture their love story, their fashion preferences and their sweet love. And of course some winter Christmas trees too.
These two got married in the same church as their sister and brother-in-law which was super cool for us, to photograph the same family in the same church years apart. Spending time with the parents and families of our lovebirds also was special because they already knew us, trusted us to do our thing, and we all had fun in the process.
The transportation these two rode in was pretty incredible. The were chauffeured in a gorgeous $125k personal vehicle G Wagon Mercedes. Of course we took photos of them with it because when you have ride that beautiful and awesome for your winter wedding, you make it a priority!
The reception started at the beautiful Great Room at Historic Savage Mill. We recently shot here but the bridge and the venue was now decorated for the Holidays, which of course Patrick loved because he’s father Christmas and all things Holidays. They had a huge tree as you walked in to the room, and a beautiful Hot Chocolate and Hot Cider bar… I kinda want to do that for our Holiday party here in our house! It was oh so good!
Christmas music was mixed into cocktail hour and even reception. It didn’t need to be a rockin’ party, instead their reception was a heavy mingling and ole sole wedding reception, complete with ribbon send offs and a gorgeous cake made by a family friend (who I met and said, you need to start a business!).
James and Jessica, thanks so much for letting us share in your day and celebrate you through photos. We hope you LOVED your honeymoon to the Western Caribbean and you soaked up some much needed R&R.
