2006 in Tulsa Oklahoma. I think that’s the year we met. Halie and I have been friends for over 10 years!!!
We were roommates in college, we took adventures together, spent hours and days together talking, crying, praying, dreaming, and hoping for things to come. We prayed for our husbands, prayed for careers, prayed for dreams and aspirations to become realities. Little did we know when we would graduate what the future would hold.
Halie was in our wedding in 2013, and the last time I saw her was on our Honeymoon a week later in Florida.
In the summer of 2018 Halie and Jonathan got engaged and invited us to their July 2019 Florida wedding as guests and we were so pumped. We haven’t been guests to a wedding in years, literally. Later in the year, Halie called me to let me know they were not only moving their wedding to New York, but to December, the week of Christmas. Of course we would be there, and I knew we would be there in whatever capacity she wanted!
I made a point to ask who was photographing the wedding and she hesitated because they didn’t have a photographer yet and proceeded to tell me that she wanted us to shoot it but didn’t want us to have to work. I of course laughed and said, “seriously, I get to be with you ALL day!”
Our worlds collided again and Patrick and I spent the weekend with Halie, Jonathan and their families the last weekend of December. Our last wedding of the year! What an awesome weekend and wedding it was.
Photographing their wedding was so special and surreal. Getting to watch one of your best friends have the night of her life with her best friend and new husband is one of the most special moments of what we do.
Halie and Jonathan had a gorgeous day, beautiful weather for a December 29th wedding. They shared a really special first look on a pier in Patchogue, the same pier where he first asked her to be his girlfriend, and they said “I Do.” The ceremony was opened up with Halie singing a song she wrote to Jonathan from behind a door for all guests to hear. So incredible. Her dad alongside a sweet family friend officiated the wedding. The reception was a blast. Halie and Jonathan danced for hours among family and friends at the beautiful Watermill venue. Honestly this wedding was an awesome one to close out our 2018 wedding season. I have to say, to have a bunch of New York, Boston, and Texans in the room was amazing. Just by talking to people I could tell who was related to Jonathan and who was related to Halie. And of course by the dance moves too, where Line Dancing meets Hip Hop.
Halie and Jonathan, we are so excited for your future and what’s to come. Thank you for inviting us to come be a huge part of your wedding day and allowing us to capture such beautiful sweet moments. We can’t wait to see you guys again in March when we come do a destination engagement session in Patchogue Long Island! New York keeps calling us back. Love you guys so much and we wish you the best!
