We’ve never done this and we thought it would be awesome to share. We get a lot of compliments on our work and our personalities and our professionalism, so we figured it would be appropriate to share some of our 2018 Behind the Scenes to show the not so glamorous part of our job… some embarrassing and some hilarious… What an amazing year we had, we hope you had an incredible 2018 too.Read More
If you’re here it probably means you saw our post on Instagram and Facebook. If you didn’t but stumbled upon our site, let me share a little bit about our story and why this post exists.
On Sept 7 I left a card for Patrick on his night stand to share with him our awesome news. We were pregnant with our second child. We hugged and rolled around in our bed with excitement. He kissed me a few times and we were like, awesome, let’s not tell anyone just yet! But in just 3.5 days, our joy turned to fear, sadness and mourning as I started experiencing every symptom of miscarriage. I even shot an entire wedding on the worst day of the miscarriage, smiling in front of our couple and their guests while my heart grieved and even physically my body ached.Read More
I'm going to kick off saying that I'm really proud of myself. I'm not proud that I made beautiful set with a desk and a chair, but that I actually completed a project right before the start of our 2018 Fall wedding season.
This time last year we broke ground on our new house. We thought we were crazy. We decided to sign our name to a house where Patrick's parents live, take over the mortgage and claim a place that would be "home" to us for years to come. When we were designing what it would look like, inside and out, what color the living room and bathrooms would be, what fixtures would hang from the ceiling, I knew I wanted to really nice and inviting space. A place where family and friends are always welcome and strangers would walk through and feel a sense of belonging in a home away from home. But also a place to share where we've been and where we are going.
About a year ago, Patrick's dad, Bunk, pulled a desk out of storage. It was a mess. It needed serious love. It has broken drawers and the middle one actually was broken and Patrick and Bunk decided to fix it. I always thought we should do something with it, I just didn't know what. The desk belonged to Bunks Dad, Daddy D they called him. Patrick's grandfather.
Then about a month ago, it came to me. I've lived overseas, I love to travel, and I've been to 9 nations. I got a fortune cookie in high school that said "Your Feet will cover the soil of many nations." I totally believe it was prophetic and the Lord speaking something into my heart that I didn't even know.
So fast forward to last week. I was feeling down, stale, unmotivated. We are in the start of the fall wedding season with 18 weddings left before New Years and I didn't want to go into it feeling the way I was, so I literally told Patrick, "I need to do something else creative." I needed another outlet for this creative girl to get inspired, to find joy again, to renew passion and the things I loved. Then it hit me. Patrick was in the basement moving stuff around and I asked him to leave the desk out. I knew I wanted to fix it, restore this 60 year old family heirloom. Bunk gave it to us and gave me the freedom to do with it whatever I'd like. So I took it and ran.Read More
Zeke turns 5 months old today. I still can’t believe he’s ours. He’s found his toes (so much so he eats them), he’s rolling over, and giggling. We love him so.
A lot of people continue to ask me questions about my delivery, my pregnancy, and so I decided it was time to share about it and wanted to share it through pictures too.Read More
So even though I’m a wedding photographer, I LOVE organizing and hosting events, and of course designing them too. I joined a group of ladies and hosted a beautiful baby shower for my sister-in-law for 40 women. It was themed just like Lauren’s maternity session with sunflowers, but my mom and I decided it would be a great idea to weave in their nursery. Chevron and Baby Elephants!Read More
I am so so excited to share this post. This is a post of joy found and God’s faithfulness in my family.
Meet Zach and Lauren. This is my little (not so little) brother and his amazing wife, my sister-in-law Lauren. And they are an IVF success story.Read More
I finally got around to sharing this! About 2.5 months ago, my family threw me a really incredible baby shower and I was literally showered with gifts and baby goodies. At the time I just thought how awesome is all this stuff... now two months later I have a 2 month old and putting most of it to good use.Read More
Many of you received our announcement email when we shared our exciting news. Many of you found out on Facebook or Instagram! Or some of you through my mom haha. Patrick and I are so excited to share that we are expecting a little baby in April 2017. We found out in July and decided to wait until our 3rd year wedding Anniversary (just a week ago) to share our news with the world. (Really it’s because Maggie wanted to wait until she was showing… opps). We had to keep it a secret for 4.5 months! Next time, no way. It was so hard not to tell people, but alas we did.
We decided it would be really fun to do a “lead up” with a total of three images to share leading up to our announcement on our wedding anniversary.Read More
We FINALLY got to some personal blog posts up post-wedding season 2015! In October of 2015, we had the honor of photographing a beautiful Sacramento California wedding! Check out Sarah and Bruce's stunning wedding here!
Since it was my first time going to the west coast, Patrick and I decided to spend some R&R together traveling throughout the Bay Area and see California in all its glory. We pretty much rented a mini-van that was our hotel throughout the trip so there was no hotel we had to get back to. We slept cliff side, by the beach, in driveways of friends, etc. It was such an adventure! Yes, we are modern day hippies (but we showered!).Read More
Well, during the blizzard, I felt it fitting to actually work on something personal, instead of another wedding, engagement or wedding related! AND since it was so cold, I had to think of warm weather. SO, today we present, our Bahamas Cruise blog post! YAH!Read More
